I have contacted an instructor who would be willing to conduct a class in Nashville. The minimum attendance is eight but can seat more than that. The class would probably be scheduled about the July 30-Aug 1 timeframe so as not to conflict with any scheduled AS events. Border raiders are welcome. Please respond to this thread your interest in attending. Your response is not binding; I am just trying to gauge interest in this valuable training.
I would definitely be interested
Me, too!
Count me as interested. Thanks for doing the leg work O0
Out of state then, otherwise I would attend. Thanks for setting this up.
Having attended one last year, I can heartily recommend it. Others in the class said that it was in a similar vein as a combat casualty course. The material was interesting and not draining at all. The class is fairly quick, and won't put a squeeze on your schedule.
Interested
I have a family commitment that weekend but I'd like to do one at some time.
Wreck
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, I should be able to attend as well.
Been keeping my ears to the ground and watching for any of these classes to pop up within acceptable travel range.
Would love to take one of these classes, and Nashville aint so far away. Gonna be in Idaho that weekend, though. Sigh.
So sorry that you are going to miss it...
The Stop the Bleed instructor has notified me today that the weekend of July 31 will not work.
What kind of interest is there for a Sept. 25th class date?
Hey Black Knight,
Looking at the calendar, there are two shoots on the weekend of 9/25; one in Memphis and one in Cleveland. I'd love for more of the TN cadre to be able attend without creating a conflict. Would your Stop The Bleed instructor have availability for an alternate weekend where there aren't any shoots scheduled?
That's what happens when you look at the AS event schedule with your eyes half closed.
Based on the instructor's availability and AS event schedule, it looks like we will have to postpone scheduling the class until late spring.
STOP THE PRESSES!!!
The STB instructor is really excited about working with us and has proposed Saturday, Oct 16.
Please let me know your interest in this date.

That Date works for me. And i would NOT like to be the model for the sucking chest wound. :sos:
I'm in! Very nice that your contact was able to adjust.
Interested, but tentative.
Let me enthusiastically endorse this course. Dangerous Cook and I took it about 2 years ago and even though she is a nurse (RN) and I am a former EMT, we found it quite beneficial. It is not hard but very valuable!
Wolfhound, thank you for your endorsement!

The STB instructor has formally put our class on the calendar for Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 10:00 am. The class will run from one to two hours based on participant questions. The class will probably be held at Skyline Hospital in Madison, TN. More details and sign up will occur as we get closer to the date. Please put this date on your calendar now. Thank you for your responses and interest.
It's on my calendar! Thanks for setting this up O0
I've got it penciled-in as well. Thanks for coordinating this!
Looking forward to it. See you there
Looking forward to it, can't wait.

I'm interested, but don't have September schedule nailed down. My brother wants to do an AS in MO that weekend and Toby wants to do KD that weekend. Hmmm. This is probably more important.
Happydad, the current date for this is set at Oct. 16. My assumption is that when it gets close we will hear more definitive details….
The date has definitely been locked in on the instructor's schedule for 10am on Saturday, October 16. Expect more details approximately two weeks before this date. Thank you for your interest in this important skill.
Many thanks to YOU for setting this up! O0

I'm not in your area, but I've attending this training in the past. It is well worth your time. O0
Many posts regarding the value of this class.
Reminder: The "Stop the Bleed" class is still on for Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 10:00 am CT. The location is TriStar Skyline Medical Center, 3441 Dickerson Pike, Nashville, TN 37207 in Auditoriums A & B. The class will run between 1-2 hours based on questions. There is no cost and guests are welcome. Dress is casual but AS attire is welcome.
PLEASE let me know ASAP on this thread that you are attending and number of guests if any. The instructor would like to prepare the correct number of handouts. Handouts are only available to those attending the class.
This is a very important skill for each of us and AS instructors all over the nation highly recommend this class.
I am looking forward to seeing you there!
Put me down for one slot please.
Unfortunately I wont be able to attend this one. Thank you for setting this up.
This is a great class! I encourage all volunteers to take it. You could save someone's life with the skills learned.
My Dad and I will be there, Lord willing.
I was waiting for confirmation from one person, but I guess it's just me.
I replied via text, and will do so here just to be sure. I am in!
When you arrive at the hospital you will park at the front of the hospital and walk in the main entrance. Once you've gone through security, you will either turn right and go down the stairs to the lower floor, or keep going straight and take the elevators. Auditorium A&B will be on the other side of the cafeteria. There is will a big sign outside that says Stop The Bleed.
SEE YOU THERE!!!
Great class! Thanks for setting it up, Black Knight!

"Bluegrass Colonel"
Excellent class I'm glad I made the time to go.
And the "Possible" actually happened. Six AS Instructors (one Blue hat) and two guests attended a Stop the Bleed class at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN, on October 16, 2021. Instruction was followed by practical exercises to fix in mind the techniques presented. This instruction added a very valuable skill set to the instructors' repertoire. All were very glad that they attended the class and highly recommended this it to other AS Instructors.
Thanks for putting this on, Black Knight! Your dedication is outstanding!
Thank you. We all enjoyed it.
