Had a great weekend sharing the American tradition of rifle marksmanship and the history surrounding of the founding of our country with two rugged Alaskans. A 12 year old and a 66-year-old. The weather was challenging, blowing dust on day one and on day two a driving rain that turned the range Into a mudhole.AK84,and Rocky907 did a great job of instructing and running the line. Didn't hear one complaint from a shooter or an instructor under some pretty challenging conditions. Both shooters, Dominic and Ken were very teachable and made good progress on the road to becoming rifleman. All in all a very rewarding and enjoyable weekend.

As OldMikey stated the fine dust blowing around on the first day and major rain for the second just glad the 30 mph winds they were calling for didn't happen, other than that We got two people through the course and they learned a lot.  if they keep at it they will get their riflemen's patch.

If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. (James Madison)

"Young man, what we meant in going for those Redcoats was this: we always had governed ourselves and we always meant to. They didn't mean we should."
(Captain Levi Preston, of the Danvers militia, at age 91, remembering the day)

That it is an indispensable duty which we owe to God, our country, ourselves and posterity, by all lawful ways and means in our power to maintain, defend and preserve those civil and religious rights and liberties, for which many of our fathers fought, bled and died, and to hand them down entire to future generations.  Suffolk Resolves, September 9, 1774, attributed to Dr. Joseph Warren
