Title: Tallahassee, Fl. Isaac Davis Memorial Range 10-11 August
Post by: Engineer shooting on August 11, 2013, 07:11:35 PM
It was hotter than an Austin armadillo's hind end on a Waco country-fried steak griddle. Thanks to Phenry's loan of some shade all the shooters survived to shoot another day. Spend the weekend teaching the principles of Appleseed, marksmanship and history, and you'll walk away confident in the future.

The Shoot Boss asked all the instructors to prove their metal and all requalified in 105 heat index.  Adobe Walls, Sean Shoot Here, Silver Bullet, Lucky Lori, an incredible band of brothers (and sisters)!

The tall shade canopies make all the difference in the world on the Isaac Davis Memorial Range! It was 15 degrees hotter outside the shade line. PHenry has done us a good deed, in that the Tallahassee range is surrounded by forest, keeping those pesky breezes away from us, riffling our papers and so on.
Despite encouraging paid reservations, not very many shooters show up, probably due to the prospect of North Florida heat and humidity. But the faithful Shoot Boss and instructors are on the line, every event. When we first began with Appleseed Project, few of us really knew the answer to the question, "How many people do you know, today, who would show up?" Well, now we know. And we have seen friends and family members earning higher positions through performance, in other Appleseed venues. We know that is well-earned and durable, we congratulate and welcome them.
