It was a great weekend for an Appleseed at Northern Chester County Sportsmans Club our host for this event.
Being August the weather is usually pretty hot, but, while it did get warm in the afternoon the usual Pennsylvania heat and humidity were for the most part absent this weekend. What great weather we had, and we took full advantage of it too!
Of our six shooters three scored Rifleman at their first Appleseed. Justins target was scored first with a 214. Johns was scored next and totaled 215. These were both on the third AQT of the day. John and Justin are good friends and no doubt will be trying to outdo each other well into the future.
Carl had the high score of the event with a 223. He managed this with a CZ and buckhorn sights to boot. Great job Carl.
John cleaned the final Red Coat of the weekend and was awarded the coveted 1st Pennsylvania Rifles Patch. Great job John.
Christen, Jonah, and JoAnne have Rifleman Patches in their futures. All of them showed great improvement with groups shrinking considerably over the weekend. They will be back and I pity the Red Coats when they face these three in the future.
It was gratifying to see the History so well received as several participants indicated they would be following up on their own. A few literary suggestions were offered including "Paul Reveres Ride" by David Hackett Fischer.
John, Justin and Carl have all expressed an interest in accepting an Orange Hat and have been invited back for their second Appleseed where they will promptly be put to work on the lines to help.
Thanks to all of you for making this a very rewarding weekend, you were truly representative of the best Our Country has to offer.

"A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government." — George Washington

"Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it." --Mark Twain (1835-1910)

"A constitution is not the act of a government, but of a people constituting a government; and government without a constitution is power without a right. All power exercised over a nation, must have some beginning. It must be either delegated, or assumed. There are not other sources. All delegated power is trust, and all assumed power is usurpation. Time does not alter the nature and quality of either." ~ Thomas Paine

Thanks for a fantastic weekend, George.
I'm looking forward to clearing that Redcoat in the future!

George, thanks again for a great weekend, Cristin and I are grateful that you took the time to instruct us on rifle marksmenship and the beginning of our great nation. We enjoyed the company, the range, and your history lessons. It was amazing how much Cristin improved over the two days. We will be back and bring our friends. Thanks again George and make sure you let me know how I can help with future Appleseed shoots! Carl
