The Unknown Distance Clinic is the most advanced ‘centerfire only’ class that Project Appleseed offers and provides the field rifleman with a very realistic dynamic into long range shooting.
As small teams on a fixed firing line, shooters will detect, range and shoot complex and hidden targets to 1200 yards depending on the range location.
Topics to enhance the above will include at the minimum, a review of the fundamentals, trajectory, come ups, wind corrections, battle sight zero, angle shooting, constructing a simple range map, data acquisition/recording and shooter/spotter communications.
Other topics taught as needed.
Scope reticles in either MIL or MOA based hash marks are strongly suggested.
Bolts or semi autos of calibers in the 223/308/6.5 class are ideal with many others acceptable.
The dynamics of this class dictate that the perspective shooter must have attended at least one Appleseed.
This course is extremely range dependent and thus only taught at select ranges.
Since this material requires previous exposure to the skills taught at an Appleseed, only students who have been to at least one Appleseed can attend a “KD Appleseed.” Experienced shooters will find that shooting successfully at “Rifleman distances” is a major confidence builder and an opportunity not to be missed!
