From Louisville take Interstate 71 to exit 28, take a right and go to stop sign. Take a left on Highway 146 and travel 8 miles to New Castle. In New Castle, continue across town square on 146 to stop sign and turn right on highway 573, and travel 8 miles to Bethlehem. At the end of 573, turn left on highway 22 (Bethlehem Road) and travel 5 miles to KY River Bushcraft on the right.From the Lexington take Interstate 64 toward Frankfort and take exit 53 to Highway 127 north. On 127 travel approximately 30 miles north toward Owenton until you reach Highway 355 on the left, just past Monterey. Travel on Highway 355 for 7 miles taking a left turn just after the Marathon station onto Highway 22. You will cross over the Kentucky River on the "Y" bridge, continuing on Highway 22, travel approximately 5 miles to KY River Bushcraft on the left.
Check-in starts at 8:00 AM. Course of Instruction begins at 8:30 AM each day.Instruction Saturday will end at approximately 5:30 PM and on Sunday at 4:00 PM.
Shoot your rimfire or centerfire rifle at 25 meters on Saturday. At the discretion of the Shoot Boss, those who qualify may shoot their centerfire rifle at 300 meters on Sunday afternoon. The range being used is not sheltered. If it's sunny, you will be out in the sun. If raining, you will be out in the rain. Bring what's appropriate for you and bring cover for your rifle if rain is expected. Events are not canceled due to the weather (with the exception of extreme weather, i.e. - tornado, severe storms/lightning). There will be a designated time for lunch and history. Food and water is available on site. Participants are encouraged to stay on site through lunch. Please bring what food you need or be prepared to purchase lunch at the range. Leaving the range for lunch is not a good option and we continue without anyone who is late returning from lunch.KY River Bushcraft is a survival and preparedness training facility located near the scenic Kentucky River in Henry County. The school is situated on 123 rolling acres with the main training sites located at the rear of the property complete with wooded areas, fields and seasonal creeks with an abundance of wildlife. The range is 800 yards from the nearest road. Participants will be driven to the range area with 4 wheel drive vehicles where they may camp overnight and enjoy a time of camaraderie with like-minded individuals
