This was an old World War I and II Army training range known as the Camp Fickes Shooting Range. For the normal 2-day Appleseed events, we will shoot at 25 meters both days with a couple hours at long distance if available on Sunday. Bring a .22 rimfire rifle, 400-500 rounds and some spare mags and gain valuable marksmanship skills without using up your expensive centerfire ammo. You can also choose to shoot a high power rifle at 25-meters. Bring a centerfire rifle for the long distance portion on Sunday. Please leave your rifles in the car until asked to bring them to the firing line. Please, no handguns (concealed or open) on the firing line. Bring layered clothing, a windbreaker, and lightweight gloves, eye protection and hearing protection. No alcohol permitted. The Appleseed Project made FOX NEWShttp://video.foxnews.com/v/4324345/appleseed-project/http://video.foxnews.com/v/4314305/mixing-history-with-guns/Video herehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gT7IJ405VKo...feature=related
If passing thru Denver: Denver has an Assault Weapons Ban for rifles with mags over 20 rounds, also mags over 20 rounds are banned. Although there are provisions for a non-resident passing through, it is best to keep weapons cased and simply avoid stopping in Denver altogether. They will arrest you and make you hire a lawyer to get your rifle back. There is no state Assault Weapons Ban. Open carry is legal in Colorado except in some cities (don't press your luck in cities, they'll find something else to charge you with). Concealed carry requires a permit. No loaded long arms in vehicles – chamber must be empty (hunting law), handguns OK.
