Turn left at the Colorado Mountain College (CMC) lighted kiosk. This is the junction of Hwy 24 and CR41/CMC Road/McWethy Drive on the south side of town. Drive .25 miles toward the CMC campus. The arched galvanized gate at the 3rd left is the entrance to the Rifle and Pistol Ranges. If you reach CMC, you have gone too far. This is where the Project Appleseed event will take place.

Please be aware than an e-mail may be sent to students on the Friday before the event weekend. It will contain information important to the event.

NOTE: If you are having a problem finding .22 ammunition please contact us using the contact information below.

Centerfire rifles welcome - bring your .22 and save on ammo cost though - or bring both.

Please leave your rifles in the car until asked to bring them to the firing line. Please, no handguns (concealed or open) on the firing line. Bring layered clothing, a windbreaker, and lightweight gloves, eye protection and hearing protection. Leadville weather could range from sunny in the 80’s to overcast and windy with high country snow flurries/hail in the 30’s or lower. Bring rain gear, jacket, a lunch, snacks, and plenty of water. A shooting jacket will be extremely helpful for the high power shooting, and a shooting mat, e.g., a 4’ x 7’ carpet scrap, will be desired for prone and sitting. If rain or snow is expected, bring a tarp to put your mat on.

This is the highest club in America. If you like feeling dizzy and having difficulty catching your breath, then you’re exactly who we want to see. At 10,102 feet in altitude this is the highest Appleseed in the country. Why would you want to miss out on that?  Come shoot in the clouds with us!
