Welcome to the After Actions Reports Board!

The Goal of this Board
This board was created as a place for you to share your experiences at an Appleseed event. We encourage you to share your excitement and your passion for the program! Some of the best After Action Reports include the stories of persistence as well as those of the good times people have had at one of our events. If you've got some photos to share, post 'em up! Sharing your experience also helps get the word out and as you know, that's one of the most important things about Appleseedin'.

With that said, please keep in mind this is a family-friendly and non-partisan program committed to promoting civic virtue through knowledge of our shared history, heritage, and tradition of rifle marksmanship.  So for this reason we need to lay down a few ground rules.

Specific Topics to Avoid
Expressing support for subversive or violent ideals is unwelcome here because we believe that America's future is already bright and will grow more so as more people become involved deciding how Americans should govern themselves. If America should ever come to the dark future envisioned by many militia movements, it will mean that Appleseed has failed.  And we do not intend to fail!

Engaging in partisan political debate, discussing public political figures, or promoting a political or ideological agenda is also not appropriate here.  Our goal is to promote civic participation across American society.  We believe that Americans of all political and ideological persuasions should become fully engaged in our civic processes.  Good times do lie ahead, and the future will be what we make - YOU make - of it.

Discussion of topics that do not relate to Appleseed are also discouraged.  We have a mission: to save America through teaching history, heritage, and marksmanship.  Our goal is too important to be delayed while we wade through conspiracies, discuss survivalist theories, or compare knives, handguns, or fully automatic firearms or similar topics.  These are interesting and important topics, but they are also fully covered on other sites.

Specific Behaviors to Avoid
Use of profanity or offensive or lewd statements is inappropriate.  We welcome everyone, regardless of race, gender, religion, sexuality, national origin, age or ideological affiliation.  We want every American to feel like they have a share in the Appleseed Project because they have a share in our history and heritage.  It just makes sense, then, that comments that ridicule, deride, embarrass or harass others are not welcome.

Avoid creating or encouraging disagreeable situations.  Please do debate, but remember that those with whom you are arguing are your countrymen!  Don't call others names, disparage their character, or offer gratuitous insults.  Stay on topic and remember to THINK TWICE AND POST ONCE!

If your reading pleasure is interrupted by posts or posters that do not follow these guidelines please contact a moderator who will intervene.  We hope that a poster who finds that his or her post may be inappropriate will voluntarily modify the post.   However, we cannot in good faith allow language that detracts from our mission and values to remain indefinitely so we reserve the right, in extreme cases, to delete posts that are inappropriate.  Posters who repeatedly violate these guidelines after being warned may also be banned.

New rule added 10/19/09:

Topic starters: Please make sure the title of your post includes: the Location (including State) and Date (including Year) of the Appleseed shoot. For example, " Hartford, CT, AAR - Nov. 14-15, 2009".

By putting the AAR after the location or not using AAR will help with searches down the road.

Thanks.  O0
