What a great weekend we had in Ranger, GA. It was perfect shooting weather, even with a little wind.  We had 7 shooters signed up with an additional 4 volunteers shooting this weekend - taking full advantage of shooting in relays.  We quickly found out that we had some exceptional shooters in the group.  Sydnee cleared her target and there were several good groups with some of the other shooters.  They all listened well as Leadslinger and I took turns going through our blocks of instruction.  Zinthous and I took turns with the Strikes.  On paper we said we'd only stay until 3, but I hope everyone was having as much fun as I was staying until around 4.  By the end of the day we had some really good groups.  Jerry had the high of the day with a 207.  Syndee and Leadslinger tied for the second highest score with 203 each.  Ho-hum, Leadslinger decided to shoot as a lefty - no big deal. Laura nearly doubled her score from her first PQT to her second. GREAT shooting!

The next day we were all on time and appreciating going back to standard time, an extra hour of sleep is always nice.  We lost Leadslinger and 12Gage, but gained Centimeter, who came to shoot and help instruct.  Never boring, he brought his revolver - the only one on the line.  I'm thankful Leigh was able to pair with him during the Ball & Dummy drill and share some pointers.  We had great groups with a few warm ups and refresher drills and got right to work on some more PQTs intermixed with history.  At lunch Centimeter shared the most detailed DOM on John Paul Jones that I've ever heard.  I'm loving the pistol Dangerous Old Man history.  We finished the day with some more drills, including a fun competition of Aim Small, Miss Small - Sydnee got the only perfect score of 20 out of 20 hits, but Jerry wasn't far behind her.  We got through 2 more PQTs for the day and ended the day with the Whitlock Drill.  We replaced the revolver with a Scorpion and everyone seemed to like the CZs on the line - Andrew's and the Scorpion.  The different optics were also eye-opening (get it?).  What a difference a sight change can make.  This drill might not be great for wallets, but they expose so many of us to what's on the market that we'd never see without it.

All in all, this shoot was a great success.  I saw a lot of improvement, especially with Laura and Angie.  Leigh was finally able to make an Appleseed event (a little hurricane and family kept him away twice before).  He and my Ranger and Roswell neighbors all had consistent and good groups throughout the weekend. Jerry, Sydnee, and Centimeter all shot Pistoleer scores - fantastic shooting!!! The volunteers always work well together and I'm grateful they all signed up.  I'm also grateful the rain held off.  I hope Laura got home to Kentucky safely!

Please feel free to comment and post any pictures.  Keep up the perfect practice and I hope to see you again at another shoot soon.

It's no surprise that she shot a Pistoleer score by Sunday afternoon  Congratulations!
