Macon, GA Pistolseed - September 12-13, 2026 AAR

Another great event at Marion Road Gun Club in Macon, GA. We had 9 Patriots show up to the Pistolseed, 8 of which had never been to an Appleseed. After Introductions, we jumped right in with the First Strike of the match.

After putting things in perspective, we moved on to the marksmanship instruction. We learned about Safety and Pistol Terminology before the first target of the day, the Hits Count target. We saw we had some work to do and got down to it. Grip, Stance, Sight, Presentation, Trigger, Talking Targets, and One-handed Shooting (as shown below).



At Lunch, we heard about the Second Strike of the Match.

Then it was back at it with Reloading, Target Transitions, Controlled Pairs, and Malfunction Drills

A storm rolled in with lightning, so we took an impromptu break and heard the 3rd Strike.



Our sole PQT of the day showed we had a new Pistoleer! Tom shot a 223! 



Due to the heat, we closed out the day a bit early with the story of Samuel Whittemore.


Sunday was another beautiful day, albeit hotter. We began with a review of everything we had done the day before. Then we shot a Hits Count target to start the day. We did some one-handed shooting practice. Shot a PQT. Did Ball and Dummy.

Due to the heat, we took frequent breaks. During one of those, Kevlar told us about the Jason Russell House.


We broke for lunch, where we heard more Pistoleer stories. After lunch, we had a Study Hall and shooters worked on anything they needed to work on. We then shot a PQT.



Next, we did the Whitlock Drill, which was very popular. We shot 1 more PQT, followed by a final Hits Count target.

Congratulations again to Tom! Everyone did a great job, though and showed progress. I hope to see you all back again with friends and family. Keep dry-firing. A Pistoleer Persists!
