We had a great event in Canton.  We began Saturday with lots of rain and 12 shooters.  Most of the rain subsided by the time we finished the introductions and brought rifles to the line.  After beginning with a Redcoat target, we began the 3 pillars of marksmanship:  the 6 steps to firing the shot, sling use & prone position, and natural point of aim.  We followed this with some time spent to fit the rifles to the shooters.  We shot some squares before learning talking targets, then we went to lunch where we heard the first strike of the match and learned about inches, minutes, and clicks.  After lunch we shot a couple squares and employed what we learned about IMC.  We then learned about rifleman's cadence before continuing on to the various seated positions.  After that we heard the second strike of the match.  Then we did an NPOA mag change drill before learning about the standing position and beginning the AQT.  We took a break between stages 3 and 4 to hear the third strike of the match.  We finished the day with a benediction before clearing our rifles from the line.

Sunday began with less threat of rain.  After our welcome speech we reviewed Saturday's material and shot our first red coat of the day, with a definite improvement on the previous day's results.  Huzzah!  After shooting a couple of sighter squares, we shot our first AQT of the day.  No riflemen yet, but several were knocking at the door.  We broke for lunch where we heard several stories of dangerous old men.  After lunch we shot another AQT before doing an NPOA mag change drill and another AQT, with the last one yielding a 212 from Justin!  Huzzah Justin!  We then took a break to learn about the rifleman's bubble, the rifleman's dance, and known distance shooting.  We then shot a final AQT followed by one last red coat target.  We then finished up the weekend with some parting words before clearing the line.

Thank you to all who came out to participate.  Remember:  Perfect practice makes perfect!
