Fantastic weather, fantastic students, and a fantastic staff made for an awesome event at Cavalier Rifle and Pistol Club!  33 students filled the line, which included 13 Boy Scouts (and several parents) from the Northern Virginia Boy Scout contingent making their annual pilgrimage to our firing line in Montpelier, VA.

With approximately 50% of the students attending their first Appleseed, all students arrived ready to learn and ready to shoot safely.  It was refreshing to witness such high levels of engagement from our students, and especially from our Boy Scout Appleseed alumni, nailing some of the answers to the Four Questions!

With the help of the student-instructor team, we were able to hold a safe, educational event, with three students earning Expert classification and earning the title of Rifleman!  Congratulation to Jeff S. and Dennis M. for earning this difficult achievement.  Special congratulations goes out to Larry E., who had persevered through previous events but struggled through equipment and other issues.  During this last event, he applied the required skillsets perfectly (with a different rifle) and not only scored Expert, but did so on each and every AQT of the weekend!

Additional congratulations goes to those who cleared the Red Coat target, to include our youth student Samantha!

My final hat tip is to the full power lineup of instructors that helped make our event successful.  Many thanks to RockHead who, in his capacity as Club Representative, provided access to the range on Friday night for range setup and camping.  Special thanks to Spud, misawa, and "mini-misawa" for helping stand up the target line, allowing for a very smooth startup on Saturday morning.  JL and Dangerous Cook, your help is always appreciated.
