Happy Thanksgiving to all my Florida Appleseed family! I do hope that your holiday is wonderful, we have so much to be thankful for. As 2016 is swiftly coming to and end I've been reflecting back on this year and all the lessons learned and the good times had at all the events I attended. Let's hope that Santa will give the gift of large caliber firepower under our trees when Christmas rolls around  :) God bless you all!

Much to be thankful for this year, especially my fellow Appleseeders!
I have learned so much so far and can't wait till 2017 to carry on!
Special thanks to Bruce and Janet, Big Chris, Little Chris, Smoak, , Joe, and Randy. You have all taught me so much on the line and your encouragement is so, well, encouraging! Hahaha!

Speaking of scopes, there is a very long recent thread about optics on the AR: http://appleseedinfo.org/smf/index.php?topic=50014.msg339833;topicseen#msg339833 Some great info and suggestions therein.

If you use the classic "nose to the charging handle" cheek index you will want to move the scope forward, which will likely need a 3" offset scope mount since the rail on your new rifle is only on the receiver and not full length. But, try shooting it like it is before spending more bucks. It might work OK for your build. And if you can make it work, that leaves more money for ammo! Yay!
