Another successful event at the New Haven Sportsman's Club in Guilford Ct this past weekend. The New England weather didn't hamper the attendees and all had improvement to show for their efforts.

Saturday started cooler then usual and everyone was prepared for it. The fundamentals were explained and demonstrated, corrections made and the students took it all in. Some extra time was spent on zeroing and by the end of the day we were able to get in two AQT's.

Sunday opened much warmer and a tune up after the am redcoat plus practice on greencoats netted some respectable scores and group size improvements. By the end of the day we had a Rifleman!

Gary, a repeat offender from Ma. was able to turn out a 213 score early afternoon. Other shooters with solid improvement and good scores were Kasim with a 196, Dan with a 178 and Rob, using 2 different loaner rifles, a 163.

Many of the shooters had several difficulties over the course of the weekend, mostly sight in issues with newer rifles but also some were plagued with functioning problems, feeding, etc. None gave up, the more important factor IMHO.

A thanks you goes out to the New Haven Sportsmans club for hosting the shoot. The range was great for the event and the club has been very receptive to Appleseed , hosting 2 events this year. We look forward to having shoots there in the future.

Thanks to Steve for being the BOTG, setting things up, promoting it to the club and other areas in the region.

The IT crew of BCodes, XFMR42 and Parallax did a great job, covering the event well and offering help and their equipment to help the shooters get better over the weekend. Thank you all.

As always, a Rifleman persists....

Definitely a positive experience for all. I believe all were able to take home with them the understanding of the beginning of our great country and what it takes to become a rifleman. I hope to see the attendees all back again.

A big thank you to the New Haven Sportsman's Club and Steve for being our hosts for this event.
