After finishing up this incredible weekend with a fine group of patriots, I did manage to pick up 2 dogs from the sitter and my wife with 3 pieces of luggage (on top of all the other gear) all into that little Jeep and all made it home safe and sound. I'll post more about the shoot after we all recover.
"We have always looked upon men as a set of beings naturally free - that a people can never be divested of those invaluable rights and liberties which are necessary to the happiness of individuals, to the well-beings of communities or to a well regulated state, but by their own negligence, imprudence, timidity or rashness. They are seldom lost, but when foolishly forfeited or tamely resigned." ~Jonas Clarke

Congratulations to Sierra (Bolt Action) for stepping up to receive an orange hat on Sunday. Some of her family also attended this weekend and we are very blessed to have them be a part of our Appleseed family.  ^:)^

Despite frequent rain showers on Saturday, the weather was actually pretty great and cooler than we've had in some time. We had a smaller group than the last couple of shoots, but those who joined us were passionate and showed much progress towards earning their Rifleman patches. Several even inquired about having us come out to tell stories to other groups and I hope we get a chance to do so. By Sunday afternoon, the majority of the students were solid sharpshooters. For most, it was their first Appleseed event. Excellent progress was made by the 2 students who previously attended and I imagine they will make the jump to Riflemen, next time around. I am humbly blessed to have David (HateTheSnow) come out and fill in for someone who couldn't make it to help us run the event. I am grateful to have such fine patriots as David, Ken and Sierra have my back, keeping us all safe, and helping me run these things as smoothly as a new shoot boss can manage. To everyone who came out and especially those who stuck it out all weekend, a hearty Huzzah!

We truly had a great group come out and participate this weekend. It was a pleasure to see and work with everyone there. As our Shoot Boss Three 'o Eight mentioned the weather while still warm was noticeably cooler than in the thick of the Florida summer and made it enjoyable to be outdoors. I also wanted to congratulate Sierra for taking up the orange hat. I hope to see you all at future events!

Good pics. And resized so they're not 4000x3000 pixels. And 2.8 Meg each. The server thanks you.

I'd attend a shoot there just to sit in cool lounge chairs - if we're not careful, that'll end up being the standard!  ;D
"5 minutes for this stage - that's like a week in people years!"

"Responsibility is a unique concept... You may share it with others, but your portion is not diminished. You may delegate it, but it is still with you... If responsibility is rightfully yours, no evasion, or ignorance or passing the blame can shift the burden to someone else. Unless you can point your finger at the man who is responsible when something goes wrong, then you have never had anyone really responsible."
