Maximize your Appleseed energy to make this program grow, and help fill the empty spots
on the firing line!  An hour of time spent at this level can have the impact of ten or a
hundred hours on the firing line.  Want to help? Send a PM to Monkey!

Our second Scout/Appleseed in South Range, WI was another one for the record books!  ^:)^

The great teachable attitudes of everyone on the line pushed all of the instructors to do their best to meet the challenge that our students presented to us and that the instructors did!

We did not shoot AQTs but did all of our basic Appleseed instruction with the plan of helping the Scouts earn their Rifle Marksmanship Merit Badge and hear the Appleseed Heritage Message. That effort was a total success as we had two Scouts earn that Merit Badge and all came away with a better appreciation of the sacrifices that gave us the Liberties we enjoyed this weekend!  ^:)^ Congratulations Malakai and Mark who earned that Merit Badge.  O0

Special thanks to Dad Dan and Great(in more ways than one)Grandpa Dennis who got these future Riflemen out to our line!  O0  In my years of Appleseeding its becoming apparent to me that Family, Marksmanship and Heritage are core values that fuel what Appleseed is all about and God bless you for bringing these fine young Americans to our Appleseed!

Kristen in addition to spending some quality time on the line (with targets to back that up) fed the group all weekend as Appleseed much like Napoleon's army does march on its stomach.  ;D

Thank you Kristen.  O0  O0  O0  O0

Without the efforts of my fellow Instructors Dom (weaselwoods) and Chris (cjcb) this fantastic event would have not been possible. Thank you guys...you are the best!

Thank you Chris (cjcb) for arranging this event!     Please keep us rolling into 2017.  O0

I hope to see everyone at another Project Appleseed event here in God's Country (aka the Northland) very soon.  :~

We had it all; Great weather, Great attitudes, Great Instruction, Great food.

Our event started on Friday night, where the Scouts worked through the classroom portion of the Rifle shooting Merit badge. They learned about rifles, ammunition, safe handling of rifles, some major laws regarding firearms, cleaning, storage and more. After a good night's sleep and a hearty breakfast, we received top of the line instruction, and a chance to learn about and practice our American Heritage. Dinner Saturday night included plenty of laughter and excitement about the day. Coyotes and Owls calling provided a soundtrack for our campfire. A warm Campfire lasted long enough to roast some marshmallows, but the boys were tired from the full day, and retired early to be rested for our next opportunity.

Sunday morning was crisp- we had frost- but it did not slow us down.  We enjoyed some skills drills that brought our groups tighter. Sight adjustments were meaningful at this point. Our shooters persisted and were able to complete the proficiency portion of the Merit Badge.

Mike and Dom were fantastic riflemen. Thank you for making a difference. Thank you Kristen for keeping us fed and watered. We couldn't have done this without you. A huge thank you to the Scouts and adults that chose this over all of the things you could be doing. I hope to see all of you at another event in the near future.
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things: the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth a war, is much worse. When a people are used as mere human instruments for firing cannon or thrusting bayonets, in the service and for the selfish purposes of a master, such war degrades a people. A war to protect other human beings against tyrannical injustice; a war to give victory to their own ideas of right and good, and which is their own war, carried on for an honest purpose by their free choice, â€" is often the means of their regeneration. A man who has nothing which he is willing to fight for, nothing which he cares more about than he does about his personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. "
