We need volunteers in sales, marketing, PR, IT, and general "running of an organization."
Maximize your Appleseed energy to make this program grow, and help fill the empty spots
on the firing line!  An hour of time spent at this level can have the impact of ten or a
hundred hours on the firing line.  Want to help? Send a PM to Monkey!

Thanks to the shooters for coming out!  You're the reason why the instructors volunteer their time.

Great weather, great shooters, marksmanship, and history.  Your Appleseed Project experience has just started.  All of you are capable of persisting and becoming Rifleman.  The best way to practice until your next Appleseed is to dry fire into the targets you left with.  To do this, make sure that you have no ammo in the rifle, magazines, or the room that you are practicing in.  Next, setup a target in a hallway or you can even use a mirror to get more apparent distance.  Then practice the steady hold factors and 6 steps to firing the shot over the course of 15 minutes each day.  You will manually have to reset the trigger by charging the rifle.  More than 15 minutes gets you into the zone of diminishing returns.  Sign-up for your next Appleseed event now.  As you heard Vinnie say, we have had multiple shooters come back to their 2nd Appleseed and shoot the Rifleman score (210+) on an AQT after simply dry-firing each day.

If you needed to borrow something during the event, now is the time to order that sling, rifle, speed loader, or whatever you were missing.  For those with Rugers, read about extended mag release, and auto bolt release.  These parts can be self-installed for a few dollars.  For those with factory sights, check out Tech-Sights for a superior alternative.  For those with AR platforms, read about the different ways to zero your rifle: BSZ, max range, competition varieties, etc. and select one to implement.  For the scope users, make sure that you have the proper rings installed and the your eye-relief is correct.  When you cheek weld in prone or seated, you should see a big bright picture during step 1.

Do these things right away so that you're ready for your next Appleseed.  Keep in mind that there is more you can do: tell your friends and family about Appleseed, volunteer to help out the project, learn about the sacrifices made by those folks that came out not only to save their property and protect their families, but as we found out at Meriam's corner -- to break free from tyranny so that their posterity would have another option.  Use that option.  Let your representatives know what you think.  Help teach the youth the principles of liberty.  As one citizen to another: Do your part!

Hats off to all of the young people that came out.  It started to get a bit warm, but but you persisted.  The standard for accuracy at Appleseed is 4 MOA.  You all know what an MOA is now, at any given distance.  You know how to adjust your own sights, to get into a solid prne position, and to check all of the aspects of that poosition.  Please come out again.
