A total of 3 shooters came out to learn more about Marksmanship and American History on a beautiful weekend in Annapolis, MD.

In accordance with the temporary ban on M&P 15/22, Shoot Boss notified shooters via e-mail prior to the event.  Only 1 shooter indicated that they had planned to use a 15/22.  This particular shooter had other rifle's available so a loaner was not required.

Saturday, we put a special emphasis on building a solid prone position and obtaining good groups to make sighting adjustments.  2 of the 3 students were relatively new shooters.   We also discussed the importance of the 6 steps of firing a shot and Natural Point of Aim (NPOA).  Saturday, we did not try to squeeze in an AQT because frankly we were not ready.  We did cover Steady Hold Factors for all positions (Seated and Standing) and practiced repeatedly.  Additionally, we added time to the practice sessions so that the shooters could get a custom to the time factor for the stages.

Sunday, with an extra emphasis on the Prone Position and finding/checking NPOA we saw groups improve and students were able to tell the instructor what adjustments, if any, were necessary for their Zero.  We carded sights a couple of times and conducted a drill that immediately provided feedback on what we meant by making proper adjustments in the prone position.  Using a dummy rifle with a laser attached we had each shooter (3) make shifts on the squares target step-by-step.  We felt the shooters were muscling the rifle to get on target and the dummy rifle/laser proved it.

All shooters did an outstanding job all weekend and were eager to learn.   We definitely have Rifleman in the making.   Krutikaben (Kat) accepted a Blue Hat.  I don't expect her to be a Blue Hat long because she is determined to achieve Rifleman.  Thank you Kat for stepping up  O0 and we look forward to working with you soon.

SonofaVeteran and WhyWon delivered the 3 strikes and students were attentive to the stories and instruction throughout the day.  Excellent group of Americans!

Maryland Instructor Team, you guys did an outstanding job all weekend working with the students!  Thank you ABCGARAND, SonofaVeteran and WhyWon for your support and instruction.  WhyWon took over as Shoot Boss Sunday at lunch… thank you sir for stepping in .  Everyone had an enjoyable experience and most importantly a safe weekend.  Thank you AAFG we really appreciate your support of Project Appleseed.
