We had a great weekend at Cavalier Rifle and Pistol Club in Montpelier this weekend. Thirty shooters joined us for the weekend. Most of the shooters were Boy Scouts and their troop leaders. Saturday was hot and sunny. We had to loan rifles to 17+ shooters, so we implemented a "mini-armory" concept to track rifles and accessories issued. The concept worked great with no loss of accountability. With effective time management we were able to work through through the complete course of instruction even with the extra time spent issuing rifles and gear. Sunday's weather was wonderful! Perfect for shooting, and we took advantage of it working in an extra AQT before finishing our final redcoat at 14:55 (range rules are no shooting after 15:00 on Sunday). We moved into the history and benediction to complete the day. Congratulations to all our shooters for a fine job with staying safe and improving shooting skills. Saturday morning we had 1 person hit the shingle and no one cleaned the redcoat target. Sunday's last redcoat was a different story: 7 shooters hit the shingle and 2 cleaned the redcoat. Good Job!!! This shoot give us a new Riflema and a re-qualifying Rifleman who accepted an orange hat. Welcome to the instructor corp Rhunter. We also had pleasure of working with John for his first Orange Hat event. All in all it was a great shoot. We had lots of folks who enjoyed shooting, learned a lot, and stayed safe. Thank youto all of our participants and instructors for making it possible
