We had an exciting Appleseed in Knob Creek KY. this weekend! The forecast for Saturday predicted a 100% for rain during the day, but the sun and warm temps most of the day made us wonder if the weather folks knew what they were talking about. Not until 3:00 did we notice any significant clouds gathering overhead, and then at 3:30 the wind and a wall of water inundated the range. The heavy winds, rain, and lightening nearby caused us to case the rifles and end our day a little early. So no chance for any AQT opportunities on Saturday. But the 26 shooters all seemed to be in good spirits and Sunday promised to be a beautiful day.

Sunday was indeed a beaut! We picked up the instruction where we left off on Saturday and carried on. We had some very good shot groups appearing on the target line so this instructor was anticipating some new riflemen today. On the first AQT, and at their first Appleseed shoot, Zack and Adam each shot impressive scores! Adam's score was 214, and Zack's score was 227! Huzzah!!
I think it noteworthy to recognize the re-qualifying scores from Jim, 217 and 235. He achieved those scores using his AR-15 with carry handle sights! Very well done. Jim's son Nick had been turning in scores in the 180s and 190s, but on the last AQT the instructors concluded that he shot a 221 to earn his Rifleman patch on just his second Appleseed! Well done, indeed. O0

It was such a pleasure to Shoot Boss this event. The legendary Knob Creek range did not disappoint, and neither did the shooters. Thank you all for making it worth the drive up from Georgia. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
