It was a great weekend at Wears Valley Ranch. The folks at the Ranch are such good friends of Project Appleseed! We had 7 shooters on the line Friday. Instructors were myself, CokeGuy, Johnny Reb, and Old Navy Doc. Guardian and Cleveland joined us on Saturday along with a couple of new shooters.

We spent a lot of time teaching the Six Steps, Positions, Steady Hold Factors, and NPOA on Friday morning, and had the shooters do quite a bit of dry-fire, as they learned these new concepts of marksmanship. It certainly paid off when we started live fire before dinner. We had some pretty impressive groups right off the bat.

Johnny Reb led the history for the weekend with the First Strike, Old Navy Doc gave the Second Strike at dinner, and CokeGuy finished the history for the day with the Third Strike.

We had one new Rifleman on Friday afternoon: John B. with a score of 215 on the first AQT of his first Appleseed! Huzzah! John said that he hadn't picked up a rifle in about 7 years, and he really excelled at taking the instruction and applying it!

Saturday began with review, and we were joined by two young shooters. CokeGuy and Old Navy Doc pulled out their "grandpa card" and did a great job coaching these brand new shooters!

James P. requalified on Saturday on back-to-back AQTs, with a 222 and a 239, respectively.
