A beautiful day for History and Marksmanship Saturday at Sunland.

8 fine Americans showed up to hone their skills, with 6 of them being new Appleseeders.

Early redcoat targets showed we had much to do.

We had to deal with the usual equipment issues, No sling attachments, loose action screws, scopes back too far, ETC.

Progressing through the squares, some groups  were getting smaller.

Lunchtime, the three strikes were told, with some "Getting it" right away...
We layed down some musket fire, a few were brave enough to try it out.

Back to the grindstone...

AQT's were looking pretty slim in the rapid fire department...

Finally ended the day with a few prior Appleseeders knocking on the door.

Sunday came too early for some, and we had 10 on the line to start the morning.

After a quick refresher set of squares, we got back to AQT's...

Groups were shrinking, they were working on getting off more than5 shots in transition stages, and were doing better by lunchtime.

Some Dangerous old man and Daring Dame stories at lunch, MORE musket fire, and back to AQT's! We finally had Josh break the Rifleman barrier with a 211... Way to go,Josh!!!  :~  Backed it up later with a 210, and got baptized with the North Bridge water....

John,  A previous rifleman, knocked out a couple more Rifleman scores.
John's companion,Tracy, shot a Marksman score =142, Argel= 137, Arthur=151, Kevin=188 (bolt).

End of day Redcoats show they learned something this weekend... with 4 new Morgan's Riflemen hitting the 250 yard shingle target.

I met some really fine people this weekend, and hope to see them back, (with their friends) at future events... Remember, pass down the heritage... It is our duty,  and a small price for US to pay... You all know what I mean by that!

I will post up some photos shortly, feel free to post your thoughts and comments, as all are welcomed.

Thanks to all for another great Appleseed weekend!

Proverbs 22:3  -  A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.

"Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even when checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy, nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory or defeat".
