We had a great Appleseed with many new shooters and new ASers.  We had some wind on the second day, but other than that the weather was perfect.  Everybody learned quite a bit, though Jeff, working on his third Rifleman patch, did not need a whole lot.  I think we at least helped him with some sling suggestions.

Below is Jeff, with his new patch, and Jolie.  Jolie is a new shooter with a new rifle and the six steps written on her arm!  How is that for dedication!

You've always had the power...  just tap your heels together three times and say, "There's no place like prone...."

Thanks to your help, I learned as much at this shoot as I have at the others.  I was able to try out your sling suggestions and tweak a few things to fit my personal style.  Also, I shot the other Appleseeds with the Aimpoint and this time I used iron sights.  So there was plenty of improvement and growth!  Thanks for letting me come out!

You going "Native" Jeff?

I hope that things are going well this summer.

I did a double take on Jeff's pic.

Nice job shooting irons.  Hope to see you again out this way soon.

Haha - I love it out here, but there's not enough greenery for this Southern boy!

I'll be back at Ramseur at some point.  Gonna bring the boy up so y'all can learn him a thing or two.  Probably won't be in VA for a while, though.

Hey, Arizona's full of greenery - its just a lighter, more "olive" shade than what you're used to.  Bright sunlight fades stuff you know.   ;D

Flagstaff is kind of a long haul for me, but with the shooters we get there I've found it to always be worth the trip, and this shoot was no exception!

There's some scattered greenery.  Made breakfast just inside the range gate Sunday morning.

How do you hang the hammock with the truck?

Looks like a great event and makes me I wish I were there.  Thanks to the team for all you do, and thanks to the shooters for making this event a successful one.

How do you hang the hammock with the truck?

I just slept in the truck.  I had the hammock with me but never hung it...mainly b/c I just drove or worked until I got tired, and didn't feel like looking for a good hang spot.  B/c in the desert, that takes time...

azmule

At least with the truck you only need one tie-point, 'cause you're already driving the other one.  I often travel with a Hennessey, but its just a bivi in the desert - it doesn't work nearly as well to tie off one end of a hammock to a motorcycle.   :slap:

Two nights ago I slept in Arkansas, in the truck with the windows cracked.  Only in 4.5 weeks I had a problem with bugs, and I slept in the truck about half the time.  Should have used the hammock as a bivy inside the truck!

I didn't feel a single bite but I woke up polka-dotted.
