Despite the chilly rain, our spirits were not dampened during this past weekend's Appleseed event at Anne Arundel Fish & Game in Annapolis, MD.

We had 9 shooters on Saturday, including four young youths on the firing line; two brothers (8 and 10 years old) with their father and grandfather, a young lady (age 12) with her father, and my 8-year old son. All the youth shooters were awesome; listening to all the instruction and steadily working to apply it all to improve their performance throughout the weekend.  Seven shooters returned on Sunday.

Fortunately the club house was available for us to take refuge from the rain for lunch and the Three Strikes.  We did Dangerous Old Men & Women with shooter participation during a nice break in the rain outside, reading from the Appleseed deck of cards.

We ended a little early because of a storm weather advisory, but managed to get three complete AQT's in on Sunday afternoon.

No one cleared the Red Coat or scored Rifleman during the weekend. But one shooter came close with a score of 209, a couple shooters hit Captain Morgan's Shingle, and couple shooters were just one round shy of a cleared Red Coat.

Everyone got a free copy of The Lexington-Concord Battle Road pamphlet which is an excellent summary of the The Three Strikes for them to read and "7th Step" with friends, co-workers, family, and neighbors about the events of April 19, 1775 and Project Appleseed.

A special thank you shout out to USMC 2674 and PB4Y1 who decided Friday night to come and help instruct during the weekend.

I posted WhyToo's Sunday afternoon Red Coat; Huzzah!

Excellent shoot with several young shooters.  Everyone progressed throughout the weekend and I think we will see them again.

Instructors did an excellent job working with all of the kids!

The weather was lousy most of the weekend but all of the shooter's stuck it out and all made great improvements. All of the young shooters there definitely have the potential to be great Riflemen. The brothers on Sunday were shooting the X-ring out of most of the targets, a certain young lady had 3-shots in the same hole, and Why-2 was doing awesome with iron sights. ^:)^   Oh, and even the adults showed great improvement.  ;D   Seriously though it was a safe, fun shoot and hopefully we'll see everyone out there on the line again.
