Marriottsville, MD May 14-15, 2016

Another great event at AGC in Marriottsville, MD! Saturday saw 16 shooters on the line, with a good mix of new and returning shooters... All shooters progressed nicely and were attentive to both instruction and history strikes... Around 1PM, we got hit with a MAJOR downpour, which all but melted the targets off their backers... After a history break, we tried again, but the rain worsened... 1 AQT was completed, a 2nd ruined by the rain, and a final redcoat target cancelled due to weather.. Despite the adversity, 3 students earned Rifleman with impressive scores of 225, 225 and 227...

Sunday saw 14 shooters return to the line, with downright cold weather and heavy wind. All progressed nicely, and as we got to AQT's, the wind kicked up to the point where several shooter were loosing targets, mats (and a rifle) blew off the line, and more adversity had to be overcome. All persevered with one additional shooter earning Rifleman, and 2 others getting SOOOO close with scores of 203 & 206.... Overall, despite the IAO conditions, all students did well, improved their shooting skills, and I'm confident will be back 7th stepping, to help the program grow!
