What a great shoot. This was our second shoot at the Streetsboro Sportsman Association's range in Garrettsville, Ohio. Fifteen shooters arrived early ready to learn how to be Riflemen. The welcome and safety briefing were delivered and before we knew it, we were on the line shooting the Sat morning Red Coat.  The results were promising. We had 10 of 15 competent at 100 yards and 4 joined Daniel Morgan's rangers.  Steady hold factors in prone were introduced followed by the six steps and NPOA. Everybody worked hard to absorb the instructions and it was lunch time before we knew it.

The first strike was presented at lunch and we were back on the line working on seated and off-hand. The weather report called for rain in the afternoon so we had an abbreviated afternoon break and went back to the line to complete a practice and then a live AQT.  At the live AQT, Mike joined the list of Ohio Riflemen.  The rains came and we shot the afternoon Red Coat and broke down the line before everybody got too wet.
The Second and Third strikes were then presented and the day came to a successful close.
Sunday dawned clear and we had a perfect day. After some NPOA drills and carding the sights, we started our AQT grind.  Results were outstanding.  Dom and Scott put on a show for the shooters. Dom put up four straight Rifleman scores (219,213,221, and 217) and Scott put up three Rifleman scores in a row, (211, 216, and 213).  The afternoon Red Coat was shot and the results were solid. Of 13 shooters, we had 10 qualify at 100 and 6 at 200. Five folks joined Daniel Morgan and we had 1 cleared Red Coat.

We were pleased to welcome Dom into the Appleseed Instructor in Training program. Huzzah.

The KD lecture was presented at the afternoon break and we spent the rest of the afternoon shooting at distance, 100 for the .22's and 200 for the centerfires.  The weekend came to a close with some final comments and a great shoot ended Sunday with everybody pleased with the progress made.

Our thanks go to the Streetsboro Sportsman Association for hosting the event. We look forward to our next shoot.  My thanks go out to Chippendale and Wheeler for working the event.  I look forward to next year's visit to Garrettsville.

Hopefully, someone took some pictures
"A general dissolution of principles and manners will more surely overthrow the liberties of America than the
whole force of the common enemy. While the people are virtuous they cannot be subdued; but when once they
lose their virtue then will be ready to surrender their liberties to the first external or internal invader."

Great time at Streetsboro sportsman! Another few sips from the firehose of instruction. Learned about "rabbit breathing" to help in rapid fire, and a new trick to loading.
Thanks to Corvette to letting me shoot my stage 2's standing, much more accurate, and for trying out your Garand!
