The Yellowhammer State is pleased to offer two Patriot's Week events!

Rifleman Boot Camp:  17-22 April
Instructor Boot Camp:  21-22 April

Both are will be hosted at Double Tap Training Grounds in Calera, AL.  For the RBC, our Known Distance Shooting will be at the CMP Marksmanship Park in Talladega, AL.  We'll be on their electronic targeting system - no walking!

These should be awesome events!  Bunk house lodging is available on-site for those traveling in.

P.S.  Instructors (both Alabama and visitors) are always welcome, even if it's just for a couple of days!   ;)

Rusty,

I'm sure you will  ;) encourage  ~~:) individual Blue, Orange, and Red Hats to set up some type of program, even if it is not a two-day Appleseed Event, to showcase the date.  April 19 is on a Tuesday, this year.  Though working folks can't attend, we will gather a group and have a short program to remember the date and our heritage.

In Alabama, this is an official date:
WHEREAS, throughout the evening of April 18, 1775, Paul Revere and William Dawes rode through the countryside from Boston, informing the local militias that the British had mobilized and were headed to Concord to seize and destroy militia weapons and ammunition; and
WHEREAS, by the early morning of April 19, 1775, the local Minutemen and the British Army had gathered on the Lexington Green where the "shot heard 'round the world" was fired and eight Minutemen were killed, resulting in a retreat as the British continued to Concord; and
WHEREAS, at Concord's North Bridge, a skirmish broke out, causing the first British casualties, and British troops attempted to retreat to Boston, but were met with resistance from the Minutemen who fired at them from behind trees and walls; and
WHEREAS, the Battles of Lexington and Concord marked the beginning of the long struggle for American Independence; and
WHEREAS, today we remember and pay tribute to the patriots who gave their lives in the pursuit of liberty and independence; now therefore,
"Be it resolved by the Senate of the Legislature of Alabama that April 19, is hereby designated Patriot's Day in Alabama, in perpetuity, the month of April is designated Patriot's month in Alabama, in perpetuity, and all citizens of the state are urged to take cognizance of this event and participate fittingly in its observance."

Last year, MossHill Sportsman's Club held a Memorial Service with volley salute at 3PM.
2:40PM The Official Proclamation will be read and then, a few speakers will recap the events of April 18th and 19, 1775 leading up to the forming of our United States of America.
3PM Line Boss will pronounce: Eyes & Ears!
• Shooters, your preparation period has ended. • With 14 rounds, LOAD!
• Is the line ready?     â€¢ Ready on the right?      • Ready on the left?
• All ready on the firing line.
