In case you have not found it yet, the Project Appleseed - Kentucky Facebook page is at http://www.facebook.com/KentuckyRifleman and there are regular posts with links to items of interest to Kentucky Appleseeders posted nearly daily, Monday-Friday.  Lots of pictures!

The intent of this Project Appleseed Facebook page is primarily to achieve outreach for Project Appleseed to anyone in Kentucky or just over the state line from Kentucky in a neighboring state who is still just considering coming to an Appleseed, but who is not yet quite sure what we are all about.  Much content will appeal to dyed-in-the-wool Appleseed people, too!

The Facebook message button on this Facebook page also provides a way to ask KY Appleseed questions and get a quick response usually within just an hour or two.  For example, messaging works on weekdays and even on weekends, even when enroute to an Appleseed marksmanship clinic!  (One shooter had questions about the Knob Creek shoot the day before the shoot, and had her answers within minutes.)

Check it out!

And, if you are on Facebook, but have not yet "liked" our Facebook page, please do so!   That way, you can keep in touch with upcoming shoots in real-time, and with Appleseed related news items, too.

Thanks,
-- Gary

Prone to Knit

This page has had some very interesting posts and stands out from other Facebook pages (and I'm including ours in Colorado). I've shared several of them. They are worth checking out.

Thanks, Kim!

When the page was resurrected, we only had 5 people engaged, and a total reach of only a few dozen people.  Currently, we have a total reach that varies from about 5,500 to 6,500.  We also have anywhere from 550 to 650 people engaged with the page. The Timothy Murphy post is the post with the most reach, reaching over 3,600 people by itself.

This is all organic;  that is, it is based on content, not using any targeted advertising at all.

It is working as an outreach mechanism, most certainly!

The KY Facebook page has an essay on the Battle of King's Mountain posted.  This is an experiment to build readership with quality content.  Check it out!  http://www.facebook.com/KentuckyRifleman

The KY Facebook page hit some new milestones today.

We currently have a reach of 10,637 and an engagement of 823 people.  The King's Mountain post has had a reach on its own of 6,371 with 88 likes.  The overall page now has 645 likes, up considerably.

Have a post on MOA that has had a reach of 2700+ over just today!  Have a post on Daniel Morgan that has hit a reach of 1700 just over today.  The experiment of better content is getting some traction.

Also have picked up 24 likes to the page over the current week, too.
