Another fine weekend at the Clinton County Sportsman Association. We started Saturday morning with 14 shooters that turned out to be one of the easiest I've ever worked with. Everyone had fantastic attitudes that made the weekend a real pleasure. As evident by the opening redcoat, many of the shooters were already skilled marksman but still soaked up the information throughout the morning.

After lunch and an excellent first strike by Longrifleman, we pressed on through the heat of the day. Everyone was quite anxious to get to an AQT, so after a practice round, we ended the day with real one and James knocked out a 222 on his very first try! Huzzah! We concluded the day with a redcoat and had 90% qualify at 100 yards, 80% at 200 and 3 shooters clearing the redcoat.

Sunday brought 13 shooters back and the morning redcoat set the tone for the day with all 13 shooters qualifing at 100 yards. After some NPOA drills we jumped right into an AQT. James and Jeff had the top scores and both requalified as rifleman. Many other shooters were right on the verge including all three members of the Miller family. We finished the morning with some rifleman's cadence drills and another AQT which allowed Art to show he too knows what he is about by earning his rifleman patch. Huzzah!

After lunch and the known distance lesson, the shooters paired up for carding the sights and some ball and dummy drills before jumping back into the AQT's. Our final AQT of the day had Austin scoring a 210 which of course was presented with the ceremonial shower. We ended the day with all 13 shooters qualifing at 100 yards again and 4 shooters joining Morgan's Rifleman.

I'd like to thank everyone for coming out, especially those that brought our youth shooters. Blake, Susan, and Sierra were all excellent students and I hope too see them all again. Until then, keep practicing and spread the word. Thanks eveyone!

Looks like an amazing shoot. Wish I could have been there but it was my birthday and family had other plans.

Great job team! I wish all my shoots looked this fun.

Congratulations to Austin, and special thanks to Blake, Susan, and Sierra.

I want to thank our three instructors. They are very knowledgeable and were very patient with us. It was a great class. Deanna and Sierra asked on the way home, when we would go to another one. O0
