We need volunteers in sales, marketing, PR, IT, and general "running of an organization."
Maximize your Appleseed energy to make this program grow, and help fill the empty spots
on the firing line!  An hour of time spent at this level can have the impact of ten or a
hundred hours on the firing line.  Want to help? Send a PM to Monkey!

This was the inaugural Project Appleseed event at this range. A special thanks to the members and officers of the club who made this shoot possible. It happened as I requested at every shoot that I work. A shooter goes back to the range where he is a member and is persistent in getting them to host an event. Kudos to Mike B. - a Rifleman and a man who know very well what he is about!

We arrived at an immaculate range with a covered firing line and air conditioned club house. This was a welcome experience on this warm August day. 5 instructors showed up after driving up to 2 1/2 hours. All of our students were there early and prepared which allowed us to start right on schedule which every Shoot Boss loves.

The Shoot Boss admits that he was a little concerned when only 1 shooter qualified at any range on the Redcoat target but was equally surprised when after 2 cycles on the squares target showed every shooter having a group <8 MOA. From this point on, the course of instruction rolled on very smoothly. NavyBowHunter took the lead on much of the instruction and it was a pleasure to share his passion in sharing his knowledge. All of the other instructor cadre did an equally great job working with the students and reinforcing the instruction and skills taught. This effort was recognized by all shooters qualifying a 200 yards or better on the final Redcoat with Jonathan clearing the target and earning the coveted Maryland Front Sight Patch.

The other portions of the day were spent in the clubhouse for history and KD lessons. It was apparent to all of the instructors that the students were engaged by the great questions and comments coming from them.

The event closed up with 2 new Riflemen added to the list of MD Riflemen. Congrats to Tom J (210) and Seth J (232 with a bolt!).

The only slight downside to the entire event was that the day was not a sell out. I am confident that if we are allowed to return to this great facility that we will be able to "fill the line".

THANKS to everyone who made this event the success that it was.
