If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. (James Madison)

"Young man, what we meant in going for those Redcoats was this: we always had governed ourselves and we always meant to. They didn't mean we should."
(Captain Levi Preston, of the Danvers militia, at age 91, remembering the day)

That it is an indispensable duty which we owe to God, our country, ourselves and posterity, by all lawful ways and means in our power to maintain, defend and preserve those civil and religious rights and liberties, for which many of our fathers fought, bled and died, and to hand them down entire to future generations.  Suffolk Resolves, September 9, 1774, attributed to Dr. Joseph Warren

We'll be wishing you positive thoughts from the ferry.

IIT's, these are good opportunities to start picking up strikes for your PC4. The skill set to present marksmanship isn't that different than the skill set to present history- master the subject matter and present it in a compelling way to the audience. I know Pete!'s average I/M/C presentation runs longer than a strike  >:D
"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." Samuel Adams

"Just relax in the sling; we're going to make fun of you." -Pete!

Pete!

No it doesn't and I'm not going to miss you.   :---

"It is an enormous simplification to speak of the American mind. Every American has his own mind." -Ludwig von Mises (Theory and History)
"I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do." -Robert A. Heinlein (The Moon is a Harsh Mistress)
"Those who are in love with practice without knowledge are like the sailor who gets into a ship without rudder or compass and who never can be certain [where] he is going. Practice must always be founded on sound theory." -Leonardo da Vinci (#19 Of the Mistakes made By Those Who Practice Without Knowledge)

Hey guys! Don't forget to tell them how awesome and special the upcoming Ladyseed will be  ;)

Nero

I am willing to bet this will be the first Libertyseed for a bunch of gold miners!
"Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters." —Frederick Douglass

Alaska, baby! Now we need the trappers, the fishermen, and then some oilers!
"What! what! men, dodging this way for single bullets! What will you do when they open fire along the whole line? I am ashamed of you. They couldn't hit an elephant at this dist-"
Last words of Union Gen. John Sedgwick, before he was killed by a Confederate sniper.

Well let's just say some of them may have been prospectors...about thirty - fifty years ago...
Anchorage Suburbanites, part time Willowbillies, Appleseeds, and Weekend Warrior Turquoise Miners.

"Move that fat ass Henry!"
"Don't swing your balls or you'll swamp the boat!"

True that,
but better we should explain to the Boy Scouts, the Girl Scouts, the American Heritage Girls, the Birchwood EPM's, the Boy's and Girl's Club, the Big Brother Little Brothers', the Big Sisters Little Sisters' the Well Armed Women, the ..... X1000.. how important the verbal history is.
Just sayin.

I want IMC, Talking Targets, and Steady Hold Factors in June, Third Strike in July, if for no other reason than just to make Medicus Maximus proud.

Every L-Seed should include 1) the Story, 2) What AS is About, and 3) Why They Need to Get Off the Couch and Help Save the Country With Us.

Let us know how it goes.

The measure of success is how many volunteers you are able to recruit - even informal ones willing to host a neighborhood gathering, refer you (and us) to another group for another presentation, etc.

Good luck, and put a sharp edge of your harpoon! :)
"Ready to eat dirt and sweat bore solvent?" - Ask me how to become an RWVA volunteer!

"...but he that stands it now, deserves the thanks of man and woman alike..."   Paine

"If you can read this without a silly British accent, thank a Revolutionary War veteran" - Anon.

"We have it in our power to begin the world over again" - Thomas Paine

What about it, do-nothings? You heard the man, jump on in...

Well,, I enjoyed it. And learned. I got a lesson in time management. Fisherdawg (more so) and I recognized that we were going to be time compressed due to a late start and a hard end time. He did awesome, and I... learned.
- 30 minute 2nd strike compressed into 20 minutes max.
That being a quasi- AAR;  this was a very good out-reach as far as overall society and should be continued.

Were there perspective shooters here? Not really. I think Fisherdawg and I were the youngest by a fair margin,, but here's the thing:
They all have kids / grand-kids.  Business cards were asked for.
I can't wait to do the next one,, it would be a shame to let a new "sport-coat" go to waste.
