Central Florida Rifle and Pistol Club in Orlando is having its annual Ladies' Day event on Saturday, March 28, 2015, and Appleseed will be there for the 2nd year in a row.
AAR from last year --> (http://appleseedinfo.org/smf/index.php?topic=40400.0)

Ladies' Day has been an annual event at CFRPC for many years.  Last year was the first year that Appleseed was represented.  The event and the Appleseed part of it were a great time and a big success (several families later attended Appleseeds at CFRPC based on exposing Mama to Appleseed at the event).   The event format is one where the lady attendees rotate through (and shoot at each station) a number of disciplines and events.  We get the ladies who stop by the Appleseed bay for about 10 to 15 minutes, which we used to give a mini-mini-Appleseed with safety briefing, shooting a square, and some history.  Last year was a great time and a great way to spend the day.

Please PM me if you're interested in helping out, attending, or would like more information.

Can't volunteer for the AS station since I always work the Muzzleloader bay  ;D

I would like to add that this event is an incredible opportunity to get a sampling of many different shooting disciplines. Participants do not need to bring any firearms, and there is only a nominal fee ($10 IIRC) to offset the cost of ammo. Participants get a goodie bag with hearing and eye protection and a card to keep track of what they shot (so they can brag about it when they get home).

Minors can participate, but must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Men can escort their children or significant others, but they cannot shoot, and are discouraged from kibitzing at the firing lines.

The event has sold out the past several years. I believe 2014 was the first year without walk-on registration, as too many were turned away the prior year. So, if any ladies wish to participate, they need to pre-register early. Registration and waiver instructions can be found here: http://www.cfrpc.com/ladiesday-main.html

Registration opens Feb 28.  See you there!

Bumping this up again.  I'll be privately contacting people who helped out last year, but please (!) PM or email me if you'd like to participate, or would like to learn more about it and decide if you'd like to.

Bump again- we're only about 3 weeks or so out now.  Please consider coming out and introducing the lady attendees to Appleseed!
As of now, it's just MrPete and myself, but we could really use at least 3-4 more people if at all possible.

RG and myself will be there. Got four loaners. Does the club provide ammo? What time do you want us and is the offer of a place to stay still open?
The American Constitution is remarkable for its simplicity; but can only suffice a people habitually correct in their actions, and would be utterly inadequate to the wants of a different nation.  Change the domestic habits of the Americans, their religious devotion, and their high respect for morality, and it will not be necessary to change a single letter in the Constitution in order to vary the whole form of their government. - Francis Grund 1837

Excellent!  Yes and yes to answer your questions.  We'll have 22LR ammo provided and a bay again.
I believe the volunteer briefing is at 8am again, so we'd want to meet up there by about 7am to set up.  I think setup will go faster as we can just set up the same deal as last year, and not have to figure it out.

Arms discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property... Horrid mischief would ensue were the law-abiding deprived of the use of them.

I don't know, yet.  Possibly but the event organizer hasn't distributed that level of detail yet.

Such events in New York  are really common and I just love attending these events. I want to be there but due to some other pressing concerns I am not able to. Anyway thanks for keeping me updated.
