I would like to ask for your support of a fellow Appleseed instructor (and my son).

Grathlong is competing for the Joe Foss scholarship and he has created a video presentation called "Keepers of the Constitution:  Past, Present, and Future".  His video can be viewed here http://2014contest-fall.joefossinstitute.strutta.com/entry/7887039

You will see that Grath's video features his contributions to Appleseed as a way of giving back to the country.  It would be great if Grath won the scholarship and it would be great that the winning entry gave so much advertising to Appleseed.

I would like to humbly ask that you review his video submission and if you deem it worthy, vote for him.

Grath is still in the race for #1 thanks to you guys.  The leader is still hovering around 20 - 25 votes ahead of him but we have seen a big boost because of Appleseed.  Thank you all so much for your support so far, we still have 6 days to go and it is still anybodies race at this point.

Appleseeders!  Folks your support is making a huge difference in the contest.  The first place candidate is still around 25 points ahead of Grathlong but the impact of Appleseed can be clearly seen if you have been watching the numbers like me.

I don't know how the contest will end but I want to say a few words now...

I have never participated or been around a group like Appleseed.  I originally showed up because I was looking for something to do with my son and shooting rifles together sounded like a great guys weekend.  I heard the Appleseed mission at that first event and I was hooked.  I've stayed with the program for years and now my entire "Rifleman" family participates because I believe it is the best program available to save the country.  I have faith in the mission, values and goals of Appleseed.  I've taken great pleasure in my own journey in the program but your support for Grathlong has humbled me.  I hope Grathlong wins the scholarship but in my book he has already won a larger prize from the lot of you.

I am personally humbled by your many kind comments about our family.  There are times when I get a little down about this or that within Appleseed but you all have reminded me about what is important.  Thank you for supporting Grathlong, my son.  Thank you for your kind words about my family.  Thank you for being the type of people and the type of program that I can look up to with admiration and respect.

Dang, you folks know how to speak to an old man's heart.  Thank you all, each and everyone one of ya!

Thank you so much for your support, I am totally humbled and honored. It is warming to see fellow patriots come together to help another (in this case me). Hope to see everyone at a shoot soon or maybe at the NRA Convention 2015 in Nashville!  ^:)^
