Unbridled Liberty

On Saturday August 30th, 2014, eight Americans turned out at the Red Brush Rifle Range to learn more about their heritage as Americans and to become better marksman with their rifles.  Thank you for coming, Jake, Gil, Kyle, and Ben!  And special thanks to Brad for bringing your son Benjamin, and thanks to Jeff for bringing your son Robert.  You are truly taking good care of your children.

On Sunday three Americans returned for a review, some troubleshooting drills, stories of Dangerous Old Men, KD (Actual Distance) instruction, and more AQT's.

And now for the congratulations.........
On Saturday afternoon, "Redcoat" American Ben shot a 224 for his first Rifleman score!  HUZZAH!  This was Ben's third Appleseed and he has been steadily and rapidly improving, so his earning of the patch was no real surprise, but still exciting.  Well done sir!

On Sunday afternoon, Gil, attending his first event, shot a high score of 215 to put him over the top and earn himself a patch!  Excellent job!

We saw some great improvement over the weekend.  Please attend another Appleseed clinic and bring at least two new people with you.  Here is the Indiana schedule:

And here is the Kentucky schedule: http://www.appleseedinfo.org/search-states-display.php?qstate=KY&statename=Kentucky

An RWVA Instructor would be happy to come and speak to your club or group and present the Three Strikes.  We call these non-shooting events "Libertyseeds".  Here is the website for more information: www.libertyseed.org. You may use the site to request a Libertyseed event, join the RWVA or make a donation.

Help Project Appleseed:
Promote Project Appleseed on your Facebook page.  Indiana's page is: https://www.facebook.com/IndianaAppleseedProject

If you have shot a Rifleman score (210 points or greater on the AQT test), become an RWVA Instructor in Training (aka Orange Hat).  If you have not yet shot a Rifleman score, join Applecore (aka Blue Hats) and help at shoots with check in, range safety and other duties, or help behind the scenes with promotional efforts.  We will find a place for you if you volunteer!

A few ideas on how to help your community, state and nation:
First, start at home: Be a good spouse and parent. "Take good care of the children".  Make sure your household is prepared for natural disasters.
Then, get involved in your community: Be a good neighbor and watch out for each other. Become a block captain for your neighborhood. Organize a neighborhood watch program.   Build wheelchair ramps for the disabled, and meet other special needs in your community.  Attend school board and town council meetings, or better yet, run for a position!  Get involved in your local Community Emergency Response Team

This was my first Appleseed event. I want to say Thank You to all the instructors and people that helped. I learned some new stuff to practice and met some really good people. I'm excited to attend more Appleseed in the near future, so plan on seeing me again.

Very well done event. Well disciplined line with motivated shooters. Traded rain for sunburn, but nothing seemed to slow
the work down. Very pleased with our new riflemen, and multiple people leaving saying they'll be back with friends.

crazyjake

I had a great time this weekend and learned a lot! Not only more about the history of how our country began but also how to become a better shooter. Although, I am a long ways away from becoming a rifleman, I improved throughout the weekend and that is what my goal was all a long. A big thank you to all of the instructors who were there! Everyone of you helped me out in different ways and made this past weekend more enjoyable. You will definitely be seeing me again!  :)

It was a good shoot and I had a lot of fun working with both the instructors and the shooters. CrazyJake you are on your way. You did show steady improvement almost doubling your scores by the end of the weekend. huzzah to you sir. Keep practicing and you'll get there. Persistence pays dividends. It was great seeing both of the younger shooters Robert and Benjamin improve their shooting in just a day. Wish that you both could have returned on Sunday. Thanks to both Jeff and Brad for caring enough to bring their sons out to learn the story of April 19th 1775 and to learn better marksmanship skills. Ben, Kyle, Jake and Gil it was working with you all and watching your groups shrink. Congratulations to Ben and Gil for achieving the coveted Riflemans patch Hope to see you all again soon. Remember to tell your friends about it and bring them to the next one.
