I thought that we had a lot of mosquitoes up in Wisconsin's North Woods but I concede the 1st place trophy for most mosquitoes per cubic foot of atmosphere to the Cedar Valley Conservation Club in Austin, MN.  :slap: (That's a skeeter being swatted).

Minnesota's state bird swarmed us in wave upon blood thirsty wave but 15 fine Americans persisted through this and other challenges presented to us by Mother Nature and all contributed to the success of Appleseed's successful first event at our host club.

All of our future Riflemen showed measurable success over the course of the weekend and with continued persistence will join the ranks of Minnesota's Riflemen. Several shooters were knocking on the door most notably David at 209 and Michelle (aka Mrs. ColonialIron) at 197 if my fading memory serves me correctly. Everyone else on the line also has a Rifleman score in them with continued persistence so make that choice to persist and it will be yours.  :~ :~

Thank you  fellow instructors Shoot Boss in Training ColonialIron and BuzzG who came over to join us after his event in Alexandria was cancelled. You guys are the best.  O0

A BIG thank you to Michelle who did a fantastic job handling check-in while we set up on Saturday and did a repeat on Sunday while we did damage control due to Saturday night's weather.   I see a Blue Hat in your future.  O0

Pictures to follow once I find my camera.

A big thanks to Taylor, ColonialIron and BuzzG for running a fantastic Appleseed event. Yep there were mosquitoes (pain), rain (soggy targets), wind (moving targets)and lightning (well lit targets); remember a Riflemen never quits or complains! How true of everyone that attended this event. My tricorn hat is off to the kids in attendance that seemed to thrive through it all (also some impressive target scores).
I hope to attend another Applseed in Georgia after my move south next month. I want to build upon the foundation laid in Austin and turn in a Riflemen score. Practice and Persistance........................... and 22 ammo if you can find it :)
If I had to do it all over again: I would be on your side!

Thank you for the kind words and THANK YOU for joining us on the Appleseed Forum redcoat54th.  :)

It's obvious to me that you have the Rifleman Spirit.  Practice and persistence will give you the Rifleman Patch to accompany your Rifleman Spirit. Good luck in your move to Georgia and be sure to bring some friends to your first Appleseed there.

It was my pleasure to meet you. Thank you for making our Austin group photo the best I have ever posted to an AAR.  O0

Hi everyone,

David here from the weekend.  This was my first Appleseed shoot, but surely not my last.  I was not thinking and did not bother to count my targets from day 1 and stupidly noticed I scored a 215 and 223 :wb: .  Although I did not turn them in, it just means that I have the skill required to get my patch at my next Appleseed, which will hopefully be at Oakdale this July!  I had such a good time, even though the weather only cooperated about half the time.  The folks I met were great and the skills I learned will stick with me.  Hope to see all you ladies and gentlemen at another shoot!

Thank you for joining us on the forum MericanEagle.

Double that  :wb: :wb:. So sorry we missed your targets. On the plus side you were definately in the Rifleman's Bubble. I'm sure you will come home from your next Appleseed with that Rifleman Patch. And don't forget to 7th step and bring some friends when you do so.  O0

It was great to meet you. Hope to see you again soon on the Appleseed trail.
