GREAT weekend. And only a few sprinkles...woot! Thank you to the shooters and instructors and, as always, our gracious hosts.  No new Riflemen this weekend, but we saw Greg knocking on the door and Andy making some big leaps this weekend.  We missed you on Sunday, Joe, but we know you'll be back. Practice, dry-fire, and come back again...with friends!  Now...bring on the pictures!

A special thanks to the few fine Americans who came out to play with us at Lake Village.  Joe, Greg and Andy, my hat's off to you.  I look forward to seeing all of you at another Appleseed in the near future.

Everybody else missed on an outstanding weekend of shooting, history and some unbelievable springtime weather in NWI; especially the rifleman's weather bubble we found ourselves in on Sunday.

On to the photos.

Saturday Set-up

AuntieBellum laying down the law

Shooters prepping for their 1st Redcoat

Shooting the 1st Redcoat before any instruction

Stubborn Yankee and AuntieBellum providing instruction on sling adjustment and use

Carding the sights

Much better form after a bit of instruction

Sight adjustment tools for a factory installed Ruger rear sight.  Dang that rear sight was stubborn!  Next time we use a bigger hammer.

A rogue instructor showed up and was put right to work.

Practicing the standing position

Bloody Butchery by the British Troops

The salute to the Militiamen slain on April 19, 1775.  A moment of silence please.

Sunday the line was a bit smaller.

This allowed a few instructors to get some trigger time and mess around with their new LTR's

Greg was like the Energizer Bunny ... he kept going and going ... even if the other shooters needed to take a break from the AQT grind.

Some new and creative uses for a chamber flag

Thank you to everyone that made this a spectacular weekend.  The quality of instruction and the good nature of those delivering it made my first Appleseed event a memorable one.  Shooting a 192, 202, and 198 in my first three qualifications really whet my appetite for that rifleman's badge.  While I left disappointed, I acknowledge that we all have to start somewhere and shooting > 210 on my first weekend wasn't too terribly realistic.  That being said, I cannot wait for the next event I can attend.  I will leave a rifleman.

Stubborn Yankee

Great attitude! O0 I fully expect you to blow right past that elusive 210 on your next Appleseed.
