Well, it was a cold introduction to 2014 for Appleseed at BVRPC.  Temperatures below 30 degrees all day accompanied by winds that held the wind chill below 20 were the defining factor for how we conducted this 'Seed.

The warmest part of the day was when we were shoveling a path through six inches of snow to the range, shoveling off a firing line and a target line.  After that, we were depending on the burn barrel and whatever wood we could scrounge.

We had one walk-on, a Club officer, who braved the cold to see what American Heritage and Rifle Marksmanship were about.  We had worked our way through a squares target by 11AM, and decided it was time for lunch in the WARM clubhouse!  We presented the Heritage and talked Marksmanship for a couple hours, but nobody was really motivated to venture back out and uncase the rifles again.  The weather forecast for Sunday was even worse.  Since this SB's policy is that Club officers shoot for free (shameless pandering, I know) nobody felt cheated when we decided to settle for setting a record for the shortest Appleseed ever.
