9 brave patriots showed up on a very chilly Saturday morning off the NC coast for a weekend full of history and marksmanship...  After getting off to a bit of slow start in the AM with the Redcoats, things got rolling by the time we heard the first strike. After lunch it was back to working on the marksmanship fundamentals to shrink the groups.  Everything was starting to sink in and the groups were looking much better, and we moved on to other positions... and by the final redcoat of the day you could see the improvement.
Sunday we were back at it with 7 shooters... We were not able to put any rounds down range prior to noon, so we start out in the AM with sight carding, and fine tuning of the position.  John brought out a framed colonial dollar printed in 1775, and passed it around for everyone to see (really cool!)... A few DOM stories and its now noon and time to carry on the tradition.  After everyone got over how quick the transition stages are, we settled in to running the AQts for the afternoon. Towards the end of the day we realized someone had earned their rifleman's patch!  Not only did Herb score rifleman, he did it with a 210.  In keeping with tradition, Herb got a little something extra with his patch, While we didn't have any genuine North bridge water on hand... the generic bottled water we had worked almost as well.  Good shooting Herb, and hope the water was not too cold.  While we had no other rifleman patches to award, several people were knocking on the door... persistence and dry fire will get you there!  I want to thank everyone for coming out and spending your weekend with us, Instructors included.  I also want to thank our host the Ant Hill range; this was our first shoot there and it is a very nice facility.
Nevertheless, to the persecution and tyranny of his cruel ministry we will not tamely submit -- appealing to Heaven for the justice of our cause, we determine to die or be free
