I have started to work more on my standing and sitting positions. I have decided not to accept anything but a 50 every time on the standing and to work more on my time on the 200 sitting.

I find with the standing that I shoot too fast, rarely am I out of the black, but I know I can do better, the 5 is pretty big so for now on in training, I will count 4's as a miss!

Now on the sitting, since I shoot a bolt action for AQT's, I have to work on  smooth magazine changes and no fussing of the shot! I usually shoot in the 40's on this stage, but sometimes I don't get a shot off, losing points!

A Rifleman persists!

Hi Quinn,

Shoot smaller targets when practicing offhand.

"Natural Point of Mag" -During prep establish you NPOA, Drop you trigger hand to the mat.  This is where you should position your magazines.  Use your chamber flag to mark your foot or knee position to get back closer to NPOA after the transition.

Do your mags drop free?

Can you keep the rifle on your shoulder?

There are a couple threads about qualifying with a bolt.

Last evening, it occurred to me that when a defender of Liberty is called home, their load lands upon the shoulders of the defenders left behind. Just as the Founders did their duty for Liberty, every subsequent generation must continue their work lest Liberty perish. As there is no way for the remaining adults to take on the work of those that die, we must pass the ideals and duties on to the children. -PHenery

The CZ 452 is made with the magazine release right behind the magazine, I usually release and grab the mag at the same time, drop it to the mat, grab the other mag and continue on. I will try just releasing the magazine without grabbing it, worth a try if even for just a second or two! Keeping the stock on my shoulder is no problem, I keep the stock to my shoulder and my cheek on the comb as well. Good idea about marking my position, thanks for the tips!

I usually shoot in the 230's, but might as well aim for 250!
