Maximize your Appleseed energy to make this program grow, and help fill the empty spots
on the firing line!  An hour of time spent at this level can have the impact of ten or a
hundred hours on the firing line.  Want to help? Send a PM to Monkey!

I think our founding fathers were proud of us this weekend at the Aurora Sportman's Club.  We ended up in the gale bowl on the 200 yrd range because of a scheduling snafu with the club.

It was very cold and windy both days, but the 13 patriots who showed up to honor the hero's who founded this magnificent country were not Sunshine patriots at all,  in fact they all made it back for Sunday also.  :) George Washington could have used Americans like this at Valley Forge.

The Patriots Day the volley for liberty went well thanks to the timing and strong voice of Prairie Eagle.  What a treat to be part of the longest firing line in history.

Thank you to Kelso and Steck for their instruction and dedication to Appleseed and the USA and thank you ASC for providing the range where Americans can hone their unique skills.

To all:

Thanks for joining us this weekend and post your pictures and comments.
"These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives everything its value."   T Paine

Sounds like you all had a great weekend too! Being a part of Appleseed is truly amazing simply because of all the great people a person gets to meet and I know colycat would agree with me! Great job everyone!

forays into IL have always been a great experience.  Imagine, being soo close to the epicenter of socialism,  yet having such true patriots at the Appleseed.

For all the Wisconsin people who think Illinois is full of peeps you don't like,  go to an Appleseed there and you will meet the best people on earth, bar non.  Illinois is a truly great state because of it people.  Just figure out a way to take the vote away from Chicago,  and all would be good.

Note:

If this is too political, please remove. :)

It was a great weekend, and we had a strong bunch of Americans show up from all over the Land of Lincoln to brave the elements and show their mettle. The shooters all improved greatly, all had a fun time, and Colycat ran a great shoot. Steck and Kelso delivered truly inspiring strikes of the match and instruction all weekend.

I took too many photos and like them all, so I am going to put them all here and melt a few modems. Enjoy!

Steck

Great photos of our young students, great patient attitude from every last one of them!

Kelso

This was truly a great family outing (well, except for the gale force head winds).  At least 3 dads brought their kids, and 3 of 4 instructors brought family members.  As always in Illinois, the participants were top notch citizens and fun to be around.  It was especially nice for me to work with such a strong instructor staff; Coly and Prairie Eagle were a great SB team, and Steck was a pleasure to work with as always.
"It does not take a majority to prevail ... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men."
― Samuel Adams

"No people will tamely surrender their Liberties, nor can any be easily subdued, when knowledge is diffused and virtue is preserved. On the Contrary, when People are universally ignorant, and debauched in their Manners, they will sink under their own weight without the Aid of foreign Invaders."

I felt really rusty from the long winter and my biggest mistake was the group shot. MISSED IT.   Lucky for me Prairie Eagle took a bunch of good photos and everyone got their picture.
