Unbridled Liberty

On April 13th, 2013 , 8 Americans turned out to the Northeastern Kentucky Fish & Game Association for a weekend of rifle marksmanship and history.  This was the first time we have used this brand new range bay and it proved to be an excellent facility.  The weather was as good as it gets for shooting.  On April 14th, 5 shooters returned and the weather was even better, if it were possible.

First, our new Riflemen: Jeff and Bradley both scored a 211 on Saturday, and David scored a 210 on Sunday.  ^:)^  Well done gentlemen!  The other fantastic news is the remaining non-Rifleman high scores; Brandon (206), Victor (201), Vickie (198) and Grant (197).  Brandy was with us Saturday only and I forgot to record her high score.

Considering all the optical, mechanical and ammo issues that Victor, Vickie and Grant experienced, these scores are super-fantastic.  I'm convinced that had we diagnosed and solved their issues quicker, we would have an additional 3 Riflemen scores.  Persistence was definitely the order of both days!

Other great news; Ohio has a new Orange hat!  After much reflection, Vickie (PorkChop) has decided to continue her journey down the Appleseed trail!  Thank you for stepping up!  In addition, Kentucky has a new Blue hat; many thanks to Grant (Rack Ops) for stepping up and making it official!  Grant is a NEKFG member, our local BOTG, the one responsible for getting us into the range, AND is responsible for getting the majority of the shooters on the line.  HUZZAH!

Thank you all for coming, and I hope to see you all again soon, along with the friends you bring.

I would be happy to come and speak to your club or group and present the Three Strikes.  We call these non-shooting events Libertyseeds.  Just PM me and we will set something up.

I have been informed by people in the know in Frankfort that when the the capitol switchboard gets 1 telephone call for or against a certain issue, they multiply that by 15,000!  That's about the same as the number of militia that turned out by April 20, 1775!  And this is for the little ol' state of Kentucky.  Imagine what multiplier they use when you call Washington, DC!  You can be an army of one simply by voicing your concerns and opinions to your lawmakers!

Everyone is invited to post here about your Appleseed experience.  Long live Liberty!

For Liberty, each Freeman Strives
As its a Gift of God
And for it willing yield their Lives
And Seal it with their Blood

Thrice happy they who thus resign
Into the peacefull Grave
Much better there, in Death Confin'd
Than a Surviving Slave

This Motto may adorn their Tombs,

Than live as Slaves to You"

It was a great weekend, on a great range, with great attendees! Seven of eight attendees over 195 and three new riflemen!

I am just at a loss for all of the fantastic adjectives to use for this weekend. It was great to be there with all of you.

Lots of pictures:

It was a great weekend!  I can't express my thanks enough to our instructors: Kevin, Mike, and Emily.  Helping with a second Appleseed made me realize this is something I not only want to participate in, its something I want to be a part of.

Many congratulations to those who earned their Rifleman patch this weekend....Jeff, David, and "Bad Brad".

Securing the facilities can be a pain, but it's worth the payoff.  I think we have the potential of turning our club into an Appleseed hotbed and its something I'm very excited about.

Thank you UL for the great job you've done at this and all the Appleseeds you do!  And Mike and Emily (our red and orange hats that day) for all the help and instruction they gave me!

Nice bright orange hat Pork Chop. Thank you for taking the seventh step. You have very good mentors there.

Hi, thanks to all our shooters and the other instructors.  I am so proud of you all.  This was a fantastic batch of shooters.  We got 3 Riflemen out of 8 shooters which is a lot!  The weather was nice, too.  I am so glad that we have a new Orange Hat and Blue Hat, HUZZAH!
