What a fantastic group of ladies! Thanks for joining us this weekend: Crystal, Aimee, Jennifer, Lydia, Dean and Christy.

Welcome to our newest Blue Hats: Aimee and Jennifer!

Can't wait to have you back again! - Your Instructor Crew - Heather, Melissa and Adena.

Saturday morning started off with clear skies and we knew we were in for a beautiful weekend.

The target line was set up ready for our ladies to engage their first Red Coats of the day.

Heather and Melissa put the ladies to task with great instruction.

After showing up late but in style with a police escort  :cool2: Dean and Christy joined right in.

None of the ladies on the line were afraid to bring out the big guns either, we had a Lee-Enfield, AR and AK-74 on the line.

Working through SHF, IMC, Transitions and AQTs.

Every once in a while the shooters gave each other reminders as to who owned each target.

Everyone was treated to Heather's telling of the 3 Strikes and DOM stories.

The ladies on the line were inspiring; each coming from a different background and age bracket but each had the will and determination to work through the equipment malfunctions and body limitations to truly embrace what an Appleseed weekend is about.  I have no doubt that this group of ladies will go home and help wake up their sleeping neighbors.

Unforgettable quotes from the weekend:

"Anybody need a diaper?" (Who knew cloth diapers made such great elbow pads and cheek welds!)  **)

"Next course of fire will be 5 round in any square you have not shot, preferably your own!" (There was a lot of love going on this weekend.)

"Girl didn't know you could move so fast." (Said as SB ran to go fix flying targets.)

"It's so awesome." (Christy after shooting her AK-74 for the first time.)

"How do you tell the difference between the noise from the AR and the Enfield." Jennifer - "One goes boom and the other goes boom vibrate."   :---

"I'm going to play the age card." (Dean our amazing 77 year old on the line who then goes on to shoot the best grouping of all the shooters.)  ~~:)

Please fill in whatever I missed.

What a wonderfully fun and smart group of ladies!  I don't think I've ever laughed as much nor enjoyed an Appleseed weekend more than this one!  Some of our ladies brought some serious fire power and they knew what to do with it too!  Heather, you tell the three strikes with amazing accuracy, drawing us into the moment and helping us to imagine being there, even causing us to think what we might have felt or done if we were there on that day.  Dean, you are my new hero!  You are in amazing great shape and it's hard to believe you will soon be 78!  You sure showed the youngsters how it's done and had us all laughing hysterically, your joy is contagious.  I look forward to meeting up with you at Shooter's Express for some practice.  Of course, Crystal's humor is a tough act to follow, she gives new meaning to being uninhibited and fresh, as well as being a generous gracious hostess who fed us well!  Adena, you are an awesome shoot boss and helped to keep us on schedule and directed while still letting us yuck it up and have a ball!! I especially appreciate your encouragement and mentorship! I'm excited to complete and pass my IIT3, now on to telling the history that I'm so looking forward to doing.   I can't wait for the next Ladyseed, hopefully there will be many more at Crystal's bigger and even better range location!  ^:http://appleseedinfo.org/smf/Smileys/newsmileys/happy.gif)^

Keeping me on tract. You have a welth of information that I would love to tap.   Thank you to all the instructors for being patient and encouraging with me.  Heather I will keep you and your husband in my thoughts.  Please tell him thank you for his service.  You brought tears to my eyes where you where doing the three strikes Melisa  hearing your story had inspired me to keep working for my orange hat. I will never forget this weekend. Crystal thank you for hosting the event please keep let me know when you are going to work on the new range I will try to come up and help.   Each and everyone of us came from different back grounds and different situations and felt like I have known you all my life.  You have inspired me is so many ways.  I don't think I could day enough nice things about this program.  I am going to encourage everyone I know to go to an appleseed event.

Good afternoon to all and thanks for such an incredible intro to this program. I am proud to get a blue hat and look forward to getting an orange hat....soon. I learned so much this weekend including why I was doing some of the things my Daddy taught me when he first started to teach me to shoot an undisclosed amount of time ago. I look forward to the next event already even though the ribs are sore and the brass showers are inevitable. lol. Adena, found out about the sights on my 22, we were pushing down not pulling up. and thanks so much for the loan, my hubby is getting me a new gun soon. Heather, the history and stories were amazing. I hope your students are as rapt as we were this weekend. thanks to everyone for being so encouraging, it has been a while. When I got home, the hubby and son both decided that they want to go also and we are working on getting enough rifles so we all have one so can go as a family.

Wow!  What an amazing group of ladies to work with!  I want to give a shout out to Aimee and Lydia for running centerfires the whole weekend - Aimee, you can really work that bolt, girl!  Jenni, your determination is amazing, that 210 will be yours soon!  Crystal, you are always so much fun to be around!  Dean and Christy, I just love seeing families on the line!

I don't think I've ever laughed so much at a shoot, and we still accomplished so much this weekend!  Everyone made amazing progress!

I don't remember who it was that said it now, but whoever said that the AR-style .22 looked "patriotic" is my new hero!

I think Christy's face when she got the headshot Saturday morning says it all!

Instructors got to shoot too!  ...Kind of...

Christy was the lovely lady who declared the AR style 22 "patriotic" while talking to Crystal.
