Another great weekend spent at one of the greatest ranges available in Southern California! This weekend saw nine courageous Americans come to celebrate their freedom, their history and their heritage with one another for a wonderful and productive two days in the dirt! Stories abound & many rounds downrange, I think us instructors had almost as much fun as the shooters!

Matthias was back for round two after Sunland a couple weekend's back. Such a great guy! Even brought a reprint of an 1828 dictionary for us to to browse with him on Sunday. Thank you for their brief time we were able to look through it. Such a cool thing!

Clay & Anders are two shooters we know you'll be hearing more from in the future! Well on their way towards that expert score!

Shooter Kevin was all smiles this weekend! You really know Project Appleseed is doing something right when a shooter entrusts us to walk him through his first brand new M1A!

Felipe is straight on his way.... Staring down that front sight with fierce determination!

Back from their time with us in December, Rory & Tamara were with us for Saturday only. We love it when couples come out for an Appleseed Weekend!

Shooter Charles was a pleasure to work with too! Persistence is the key! We all really hope to see you again soon!

Instructor V came through on Sunday for some 1X1 coaching and a wonderful flag tour!

Here are some pics:

We hope to see all of our shooters from this weekend again very soon! Keep your heads high and don't forget to dry-practice at home!

Thanks to Foppish Dandy, MR B (549), Woburn 210, Gratefuldog & V for allowing me to hang out!

Rock & Roll,

As promised, the name I couldn't get in the talk about the flags.

Sgt. William Jasper was the man who restored Captn. Moultrie's flag to its rightful place in the not yet completed Ft. Sullivan in the defense of Charleston.

Dittos to all you said gone johnny.  What is remarkable to me is the quality of shooters that come out to the events at Piru.  This bunch is not going to be cooks for very long so we better keep recruiting or we'll go hungry fast.  The effort that was put forth even out shined the weather, and the weather was great.  So what is next?  February at Piru of course!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  but in the mean time since it is so hard to find ammo now, dry fire in the back yard, dry fire in the living room, dry fire in the garage or where ever it works for you.  Work out those positions that were new and odd and maybe didn't feel quite right untill they only take seconds to get into.  Remember NPOA, focus on the front sight..............now that the fire hose is off, read up on the materials you went home with and get ready for the next Appleseed.  Join the RWVA forum and PM(personal message) any of us if you have a question.

See you at the next AS.
