Cokato Minnesota's Rainbow Sportsman's Club hosted its first Appleseed Event this last weekend  ^:)^ and with only three weeks to promote we still had a respectable turnout of 11 shooters.  The Rainbow Sportsman's Club was particularly picturesque with the fall foliage along the Crow River bottom.

Dane Madsen, a local member of the club, was responsible for setting this up and as a Rifleman was willing to take the Orange this weekend.  O0  He spent considerable time on the line coaching new shooters and his efforts paid off when one of his charges, who happens to be one of his daughters, managed to get the coveted Rifleman's Patch with a score of 210.  She of course was "baptized",  ::) the honors going to her father, congratulations Emily!  Emily is a hard charger and agreed to help her dad as an orange hat instructor also.  Dane's wife Wendy and other daughter Aliesha turned in some very respectable targets with Wendy cleaning the Redcoat target Saturday afternoon, very well done!  O0 Some good "seeds" planted here, looking good for that area west of the Minneapolis/St Paul metro area.

Dane was responsible for most of the turnout with his family comprising four of the attendees and his neighbor Dale, his son and grandson another three and Rose, Corey, and Donna also.  Brad came out from Minneapolis on his ROC Saturday and was doing good and should be picking up the Rifleman's Patch in short order.

All in all, it was a perfect weekend for the shoot the weather and scenery couldn't have been better.  The company was the best.  Look forward to seeing all of you again on the Appleseed Trail.
