It was a great weekend up in Santa Barbara! The weather was clear and warm but not too hot. We used the shade for instruction, as we had no shade on the line. 10 good citizens came out to learn about our Heritage.

Joe, a first time participant, has been trying to make it for years, and finally the calendar and his schedule matched :)! We were glad to have you and saw improvement. You definately should keep a DOPE book for that russian scope! (Data on Personal Equipment).

Natalya brought her three children Liz, Andrew, and Anne. She was seventh stepping  :sb:before the day began and invited her friend Mikael and his two children Izaak and Mel. They all did a great job. They stayed safe the entire day (the most important thing!) They also all improved their groups! Liz went from not hitting paper to having 3 in the 100 and 2 awesome groups near the 200 and 300 yard targets and a near miss on the 250. O0

The youth all maintained great attitudes throughout the day, and self-monitored to take breaks as needed. Mel (7) couldn't wait to go down range and count her holes on paper! When there were multiple targets pasted on top of each other she was excited she had "double" and "triple" holes. ^:)^

Micah and Kyle were "return offenders". They stayed "after hours" with Joe for some additional AQTs. :--- :~ :--- Hard work pays off and they both scored 210, Micah topped it off with a 212, and Jeff and Nick ceremoniously ambushed them with a nice douse of water  >:Dwhen they received their patches.
Being this is their second Appleseed they both decided to step up as orange hats to help at future shoots, and have their eyes set on some time at Piru! O0  ^:)^

Very cool the Santa Barbara crew is growing! It sounds like it was a great shoot. As you know all are welcome in Piru.
