We need volunteers in sales, marketing, PR, IT, and general "running of an organization."
Maximize your Appleseed energy to make this program grow, and help fill the empty spots
on the firing line!  An hour of time spent at this level can have the impact of ten or a
hundred hours on the firing line.  Want to help? Send a PM to Monkey!

TOMINCT

Another rewarding Appleseed in the record books for Maine this past weekend. Good weather, students
and instructors made it run like a well oiled machine. The program got underway Sat am with 2 shooters going thru the
safety briefing and the finer points of rifle marksmanship. By lunchtime there was room for an instructor or two to be worked into the program.

After lunch and telling the first strike the instruction commenced with a definite improvement seen in the shooters. This was reflected in the redcoat tally of one 100 yard shooter in the morning and one 100 yd and one 300 yd shooter at  the close of the day.

Sunday began with a new shooter getting the treatment and a quick review of the fundamentals before the AQT grind
commenced. There were some mechanical issues that slowed some of the shooters down but didn't deter them from
making it thru most of the day. By the end of Sunday Maine had a new rifleman, or should I say riflewoman. North
Country Lady showed us all what the true meaning or persistence is!

Altogether a good and safe shoot in downeast Maine. Special thanks go to the Pleasant River Fish and Game
Conservation Assn for use of the club facilities. And to both Bill and Bob, club members and former AS attendees, for the
great lobster dinner provided to the instructors on Saturday.

There should be some pics up soon.

The Old Guide

Despite our best efforts the instructors could not eat all the lobsters so we had to have lobster rolls for lunch on Sunday. With instructors outnumbering the students the instructors got some range time. TominCT has a very accurate SKS. North Country Lady is most pleased to make Rifleman after many Appleseeds in the wind, rain, a Winterseed and mud. This weekend was just about perfect.
Our history is not a list of dates and places. It is a dynamic adventure of freedom and individual courage.
