The spirit of the American Rifleman displayed in all it's glory this weekend with a half dozen tough folks on the line! In typical panhandle fashion the weatherman was WAY off as there is nothing between the North Pole and the panhandle of Texas but a barbed wire fence! Cold...Wet....Drizzly....Wind blowing...Wind chills in the teens and single digits but with persistance and fortitude history was told and made. We were finally blessed with a touch of sunshine Sunday afternoon, I'm sure it was His glory shineing on 2 new rifleman and those knocking on the door.

Greg was first up turning in an impressive 227..The next one was 235! Just to prove he knows very much what he is about, switches from a scope and turns in a Rifleman score with irons. Greg stepped up to take the Orange Hat and will be a great addition to the USS America crew. From one ol' Sailor to a much younger one, thank you Petty Officer for stepping up.

Bryce, our 13 year old boy scout at his first Seed last year was turning in 190's with a bolt bolt gun. A semi this time around earned him his Rifleman's patch with a 217 I think it was. Good job Bryce, you are a fine young man and looking forward to seeing you again in April with your dad and grand dad.

Had lots of IIT's who did a great job in tough conditions, all advanced a notch and a special congrats to Tim, "336" who's sporting a shiny new RED HAT. Thanks to all who made this a success.

All of our shooters were knocking on the door leaving a bright future for Appleseed in the Texas panhandle. Russel, David, Cody, and Camron, keep practicing and you'll get there. A tip of the hat to you all....O.L.

A big congrats to Bryce for his sharpshooting!  :~

And a big thanks and congrats to Tim for taking that big step in carrying AS forward with the Red Hat.

Kara, isn't it easier standing up than being in prone all day in the rain?

Great to see all of you, in photos at least.  See you on the AS trail sometime this spring.

And btw, GO BRITTANY!  Journalists like you don't have to choose between a pen and a sword--you have "as little as it takes, and as much as necessary."
