hopehere,

Thanks for posting your pictures, but they really belong to the AAR for the Como, MS shoot (go to the following link to post them there - http://appleseedinfo.org/smf/index.php?topic=29282.0).  This thread is for third-party AARs such as blogs or news articles.

Glad you had a great time at your Appleseed shoot.

The April 19th Shoot in middle TN was one for the books; beyond the normal April 19th extra we were blessed with a RevWar Living History group that came and encamped behind the range.  They also had a few demos and re-enacted parts of the strikes while we gave the story.  They also had one guy in the garb of the 4th Company of Foot that gave a rather neat demo.  They also had a real period Brown Bess.

See newspaper story from the Sunday Tullahoma News at - http://www.tullahomanews.com/?p=4711

Here are the actual pdfs of the printing.

Claude, TnColonel, our SC wrote up a press release afterwards and the Coffee County Saturday Independent published it.  The actual pdfs used to print are attached.  We have permission to use and reprint them .  The only thing the publisher of the paper asked is that we have a link back to his newspaper if it is posted on the Appleseed Web site. The link is  http://tsinews.com.

Mal, I am an Ohio IIT that follows Carteach's blog and came to post a link only to find you beat me to it.  Work on him and get him on the line in an orange hat. Alternatively, let's get him seventh stepping.

I attended the Palmerton PA shoot this past weekend and thought I would share my experience.

This was the 1st full Appleseed shoot I have done, with having only shot one Appleseed day on a previous Saturday.  After this shoot, I will NEVER SHOOT the same; I WILL ALWAYS shoot better!

I have been shooting and hunting for over 35 years and considered myself a good shot prior, but wow did I have a lot to learn and still a lot to work on.  I know this program will benefit many that hunt or shoot, and even those that have never shot but who want to learn.

I brought a future Marine who was new to a rifle - on his 1st time shooting he had no group and after day two his group size was down to 4" or less.

This program is an amazing opportunity for anyone and everyone to learn marksmanship skills and about the founders of our Country at an extremely low or no cost.  We had 2 women shooters, one new to a rifle and 4 kids on the range!

Thank you to all those that volunteer to give back to those that fought so hard to create this one and only USA - there is no other place like it and I truly believe there is no other project as great as Project Appleseed.

I plan on attending the July shoot and camping with family and friends.  Enjoy and God bless.

That review would be from Gary, who bought out his family to McKinney, Texas this weekend. It was a great shoot. It gives me hope to know that there are people like Gary, Mel, and Mischa out there. There were numerous other families out too. I'd love so see some Orange/and or Blue hats on those guys.

And thanks for all the reports. Looks like the instructors continue to do an outstanding job. Thanks again guys.

"The only politicians we'll talk about at Appleseed have been dead for 200 years".

Thus spoke the shoot boss at the latest Appleseed clinic I attended. He went on to explain how it wasn't a political event, no one was going to talk about modern politicians, and history was the main topic. History, and the skills of a rifleman.
