Criticism is the only known antidote to error.  David Brin

What a nation has done, a nation can aspire to.
Dr. Jerry Pournelle

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

agreed.  We should contact and let him know about the Ladyseed events, which would address one of his negative impressions....

Our Project Appleseed friends in Texas got some nice media coverage. They explained some of the marksmanship instruction as well as the history aspects of the project. Well done!

Mas was kind enough to include Project Appleseed in his column in this month's Backwoods Home magazine on "Affordable Firearms".  This would be the March/April 2012 issue.

A very nice short mention of Appleseed, with a quote from one of our instructors, at the influential Instapundit blog:

Gun blogs, I read a few of them.  When I found out by reading that one of my favorites was living about an hour away, I tossed out the invitation to come to our next Appleseed.  He came and the AAR says it all:  http://oldnfo.blogspot.com/2012/03/appleseed-aar.html for Day 2 and : http://oldnfo.blogspot.com/2012/03/appleseed-first-impression.html for day 1.

Project Appleseed made the front page of the outdoors section of the Coeur d'Alene Press in Idaho.  This is the link to the on-line version of the article:  http://www.cdapress.com/news/outdoors/article_ba9c7bcd-a21a-5795-bf82-44b3f6c218d6.html

Great work, Western Rose and Roland, for writing the press release and getting it into the hands of the right folks! O0

Don't forget a link to the article in Spokesman-Review in Washington! Roland sent out a press release and got a follow up call and questions which resulted in this article. Here's a link to the on-line version:

A KBZK reporter from Bozeman, MT came out for a little while and chatted with Mark Davis and one of our returning participants at the Three Forks, MT shoot this weekend.  The story was featured on tonight's newscast.  Here is the link: http://www.kbzk.com/videos/530-news-04-15-12-a-/ (you need to skip to the 4:00 minute mark to get to the Appleseed coverage).

Great job, Mark!  It looks like that reporter was having a fun time behind that rifle (she was a first-time shooter).  Hopefully she got bit by the Appleseed bug.  :)
